Randy Travis Celebrates 25 Years With Duets Album

    Axelle Woussen/BAUER-GRIFFIN.COM

Randy Travis is digging up some of his classic hits for a planned 25th anniversary album, featuring the country superstar teaming up for performances with Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Josh Turner and many more of his famous friends.

To mark his quarter-century as a performing artist, Randy dusted off hits such as 'Diggin' Up Bones,' (which he re-recorded with old pal John Anderson) and he uncovers some new songs for the disc, as well. Randy has been in the studio quite a few times already this year working on the project, and says there have been a few unexpected surprises while working with the old material.

"I didn't know this," Randy tells the Wilkes-Barre Weekender of 'Diggin' up Bones,' "but when it was written, there was actually a third verse to the song. We added that on the record, and it's hilarious!"

Trace Adkins Keeps the Music, Movies (and Books?) Rolling

    Mark Humphrey, AP

Trace Adkins has more than music notes dancing around in his head right now. The man who is just as well-known for his outspoken comments and songs that fall just a little left of center is also a comic-book hero and an actor. And to broaden his acting resume, he's headed to Los Angeles to join Matthew McConaughey in 'The Lincoln Lawyer.'

Trace once said his ideal role would be that of a gunslinger who rides into town, takes care of business and rides off-screen without ever saying a word. The singer will be riding a different kind of horse in his new movie role as the leader of a biker gang. He says riding a motorcycle and leading a gang of men in leather jackets and boots will not be a hard task for him.

"These things I get the opportunity to do are things that fit into my schedule, and they're not a stretch for me as an actor," Trace tells The Boot in his Louisiana drawl. "In the McConaughey movie, I'm not trying to be Philip Seymour Hoffman, playing Truman Capote. I keep things pretty much in my wheel house. It's like if someone asked me to go play Trace Adkins in a movie, I'd say, 'Uh, I'll see if I can do that'."

Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah to Make a 'Joyful Noise'

    AP / FilmMagic

Dolly Parton is slated to star and duet with Queen Latifah in the music-filled film, 'Joyful Noise.' It will be Dolly's first major feature since 1992's 'Straight Talk,' which followed her '80s box office hits, '9 to 5' and 'Steel Magnolias.'

The upcoming film, written and directed by Todd Graff (who wrote and directed 2009's battle-of-the-bands film, 'Bandslam' and the 2003 teen musical, 'Camp') tells the story of two women who pull together to keep their small-town gospel choir from being shut down. Queen Latifah plays the role of a no-nonsense mother of two teens who has been put in charge of the Pacashau Gospel Choir following the sudden death of the choir director. Dolly plays the role of the choir director's strong-willed widow ... who assumed she would take over her late husband's job.

"I'm really happy to be doing a movie with Queen Latifah," Dolly says. "I really like her and have often thought we would be fun together. Even though we play rivals in the movie, I'm sure we'll have our fun behind the scenes."

Josh Turner Is Ready to Go Fish

    Jason Smith, Getty Images

Josh Turner has been so busy on the road this summer that he has not been able to take his boat on the lake but a few times. Not only does he like to tool around with his wife Jennifer, but every now and then he enjoys putting a pole in the water and wrangling a few fish, as well as playing the role of biologist.

"I go out and just check pH levels and stuff like that, try to check nitrogen and phosphorus and all that kind of stuff," Josh tells The Boot. "I like to fish when it's not too hot. I've been working towards getting the boat set up to go tubing. I'm not much of a water skier, my legs are too skinny for that, so I just try to tube and have fun, just ride."

Blake Shelton's 'Tonight' Tops the Charts Two Weeks in a Row

    Warner Music Nashville

Blake Shelton tops both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck country charts with his single 'All About Tonight' for a second week in a row. Keith Urban's 'I'm In' remains at No. 2 on both charts, followed by Billy Currington's 'Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer' at No. 3.

Blake says 'All About Tonight' could not be more perfect for him. "That song and the lyrics of it and what it's talking about is definitely the way I've lived my life the last 20 years or so," the Oklahoma native tells The Boot. "I mean it's a wonder I'm sitting here -- not that I'd be dead -- but that I haven't taken that much seriously along the way. [laughs] Because it's just like it says in the song, I know that I'm going to be out until way too late. I know I'm going to feel like crap tomorrow. Don't even bother talking to me about it. I'm not stupid in that sense. I'm just stupid in that it's not going to stop me."

Jason Aldean Throws 'My Kinda Party' in November

    The Greenroom PR

While it might seem that Jason Aldean has spent most of the past year either on the concert stage or on the country charts (he has, in fact, logged more weeks at No. 1 than any other country artist in the last 14 months), he's also been spending time in the studio. And on November 2, the multi-platinum singer unleases his fourth album, titled 'My Kinda Party.'

"It's totally representative of what I like and what my fans have come to expect on my records and at the 'party' we throw at our shows," says Jason explaining the title. "I think the key is knowing who you are as an artist and taking it to an extreme without ripping anybody else off ... it's all about knowing what it is that sets you apart."

The 15-track disc, produced by Michael Knox, features the title cut as its first single. The raucous 'My Kinda Party' is currently climbing the charts. The album also includes a first on record for the Georgia native as he and pop songstress Kelly Clarkson team up for a duet called 'Don't You Wanna Stay.'
