Best Wedding Shows on TV: From 'Bridezillas' to 'Big Redneck Weddings'

by Tara Spicer, posted Aug 22nd 2010 10:00AM

There's no denying the addictive powers of the wedding show ... especially when you throw in an angry bride, a frazzled groom, and a budget that makes Chelsea Clinton's nuptials look like a backyard potluck.

But of course, not all brides are bridezillas, not all grooms are miserable, and not all weddings come with a million dollar price tag. There are also those shows that are filled with happy, normal people. You don't have to be a bride (or a groom) to enjoy these seven wedding shows ...

    'Eureka' - 'Stoned' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 21st 2010 4:00PM
'Eureka' - 'Stoned'(Season 4, Episode 7) Sometimes you have to fight for what you want. Sometimes it's too late. And when you're dealing with time travel, that can take on a whole new meaning. Zoey returned to Eureka this week for a visit, where we discovered that she's moved on to a new Mr. Right.

But, as this is Eureka, a visit to town just wouldn't be complete without falling hands first into the newest scientific danger. It was a fun one this week, though lighter on the action than we've seen in recent weeks. Perhaps Colin Ferguson was too tired from filming 'Lake Placid 3' to handle it, so instead we got a fairly low-key, though no less deadly, conundrum for him to try and solve with his down-home charm and smile.

Plus, did you really think you could pluck a man from 1947 and drop him into the Information Age, at a high-tech company like Global Dynamics no less, and no one would notice?

Clickable This Week: 'CSI' in One Minute, Dirty Cartoon Jokes and More

by Elena Cox, posted Aug 21st 2010 2:00PM
It's hard to keep up with everything on the Internet -- trust us, we know. In an effort to simplify your lives, we're presenting you with the best Web finds of the week all in one convenient place: this post!

This week in Internet fun: 10 years of 'CSI' in one minute, cartoons get dirty, and more.

    • 'CSI' is embarking on its eleventh season this fall, which is almost an eon in TV years. If you want to see what you've been missing for the past decade, or just want to relive those crime scene moments, check out this trailer.

    • Christopher Walken is one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, and his voice is nothing short of iconic. So hearing Walken do a dramatic reading of Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' is sure to bring a smile to your face.

    • Children's shows and movies have always been sprinkled with adult humor and innuendos, but our friends at Asylum.com found some pretty disturbing, and kind of hillarious sexual references in cartoons.

    • Guest starring on 'Sesame Street' is a pretty big deal -- they've had everyone from Lauren Bacall and, Johnny Cash to Beyonce and Anderson Cooper -- but the latest to take a trip to the neighborhood is comedian Jonah Hill. He helps Elmo find out what a mustache is. If you want to know what one is, click here.

    • It's no secret that sex sells, so it wasn't completely shocking to see cast members of 'True Blood' appear naked on the latest issue of Rolling Stone. They aren't the first one to bare all though, check out this compilation of naked mag covers. One thing you may not have known though, when Alexander Skarsgard is doing a nude scene, he's really naked.

After only three weeks the CW has canceled the scripted comedy '18 to Life.'The American summer television season has not been kind to Canada. Back in July, CBS canceled CTV import 'The Bridge' after only three episodes. This week, the CW followed suit and canceled a Canadian import of its own.

The Hollywood Reporter announced that the part-time network had decided to cancel the scripted comedy '18 to Life' after only three weeks due to low ratings. The Tuesday, 9 p.m. slot it occupied will be taken over by 'Life Unexpected.' Not much of a stretch for 'Unexpected' fans since this will be the show's regular slot when it returns for a new season on September 14th.

Shonda Rhimes Distances Herself From the Word "Va-jay-jay"

by Ryan McKee, posted Aug 20th 2010 6:30PM
In 2006, the term "va-jay-jay" became a revelation for women looking for a humorous, slightly-urban way to refer to their downstairs lady-parts. It began during the second season of 'Grey's Anatomy,' when Miranda Bailey went into labor and berated an intern, "Stop looking at my va-jay-jay."

    Oprah Winfrey
caught wind of it and suddenly even Midwestern housewives were whispering "va-jay-jay" to their friends with a smirk.

Shonda Rhimes, creator of 'Grey's Anatomy' and "va-jay-jay," is now trying to curb its usage with her Twitter page. Referring to a headline on the September cover of 'Cosmo,' she tweeted, "Eww. This is taking my word a little 2 far."

News Roundup: Work Visa Trouble for Piers Morgan, John Glover Returning to 'Smallville' and More

by Chris Harnick, posted Aug 20th 2010 6:00PM
Piers MorganWe all know Larry King is stepping down, but if CNN has its way, the legendary newsman will stick around until the end of the year. Why? Because his rumored replacement is having trouble getting a work visa.

Yep, according to the NY Post, Piers Morgan is having difficulties getting a visa so he can fill King's chair. The plan was to have Morgan in place this fall in either October or November, but the visa problems have obviously caused delays. Morgan has a limited work visa for his summer gig as a judge on 'America's Got Talent,' but that would not carryover for him to work year-round for CNN.

CNN has not set an official date for King's last episode, nor have they named Morgan as the replacement.

    In other TV news ...

John Glover will reprise his role of Lionel Luthor on The CW's 'Smallville.' Glover's character was killed off in season 7. There's no word on what his two-episode arc will entail. Look for Glover's episodes in November. [Ausiello Files]

'Numb3rs' star Diane Farr has signed on to guest on 'Grey's Anatomy.' Farr will appear in the fourth episode as a patient of Meredith's with Huntington's disease. [Ausiello Files]

Ad buyers think 'American Idol' will suffer a ratings decline. A new survey found that ad buyers think Simon Cowell's exit will contribute to a decline in the ratings. Over half of those surveyed think the show will no longer be No.1 in Nielsen ratings. [Reality Blurred]

She also spoke about changes 'Hung' fans can expect to see if, as seems likely, HBO renews 'Hung' for a third season.

No one can accuse Stephen Colbert of being unpatriotic.

The host of Comedy Central's fake news program, 'The Colbert Report,' will dedicate two episodes of his show, Sept. 8 and 9, to U.S. soldiers returning home from Iraq. American combat operations are scheduled to end there on Aug. 31.

Early Look: Kids in the Hall Are Creepy Funny in 'Death Comes to Town'

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 20th 2010 4:30PM
Kids in the Hall present 'Death Comes to Town' on IFCWhen 'Death Comes to Town' debuts tonight on IFC, it will mark the first time in 15 years the Kids in the Hall have been together on TV. All five kids - Bruce McCulloch, Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson - went their separate ways after their feature film 'Brain Candy,' in 1996.

But they weren't able to stay away from each other for long, reuniting for tours in 2000, 2002, and 2008. The last tour happened to coincide with the writers' strike, which helped get the Kids writing together again. They were looser than ever on that tour, and obviously enjoyed each other's company. They even made a short film or two for the tour, and started thinking about working together on camera again.
