Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time's Gamescom media pokes fun at Caesar

You probably use a washing machine on the regular -- at least, we hope you do -- but you may not have known that the gentle rinse cycle isn't the only trick up the bulky metal box's sleeve. Those delightful little rabbids managed to find the time travel setting in Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time, taking a hilarious jaunt back to Rome in the trailer past the break.

Feel free to take your own trip past the break to check out the Gamescom 2010 trailer. We've also got some new screens in the gallery below. Decisions, decisions!

Gameloft's N.O.V.A. orbiting PSP soon

N.O.V.A., Gameloft's first-person shooter for smartphones, is headed to PSP as part of the publisher's plan to have every game it's ever made on every platform in the universe. Gameloft announced via Facebook that the game -- currently available on iPhone, iPad, Android and Palm Pre -- will soon be released as a PSN download for PSP. Gamerbytes speculates that the title will be released as a Mini, which means that, like all Minis, it won't have any kind of multiplayer functionality. The mobile version supports both online and local wireless play.

N.O.V.A. is the story of a once-retired member of a military group dedicated to protecting "near-orbital" Earth colonies from aliens called "Judgers." Yes, Judgers.

Heroes on the Move trailer and details surface at Gamescom

Details on Sony and Nihilistic's motion-sensitive meeting of the mascot minds, Heroes on the Move, have been scarce since the game was first announced at E3. Gamescom filled in some of the missing pieces: Players will be able to choose between Ratchet, Clank, Sly Cooper, Bentley, Jak and Daxter, who will then be able to engage in various challenges across each character's native environs, such as Metropolis, Paris and Haven City.

PlayStation.Blog revealed what some of these challenges might entail, such as "City of Fights," which sees Sly collecting orbs across Paris while fending off enemies from all three universes, or "Fistful of Crystals," which tasks Clank with blasting his way through Haven City in a light gun-esque fashion. Check out some new footage in the trailer posted just past the jump, and ponder what might happen should two Heroes from different universes come into physical contact with one another. (Our money is on the end of all existence.)

Hear some of Shank's tracks, and see Shank's tracksuit

It may seem strange to receive an update on Klei Entertainment's XBLA/PC/PSN action game Shank that doesn't have anything to do with brutal gun, knife, or gun/knife/knife/gun/chainsaw violence, but you'll like this anyway. In advance of next week's release (August 24 on PSN, August 25 on XBLA, "Fall" on PC), Klei has posted six songs from the game's soundtrack.

In addition, the company revealed a few of the unlockable costumes in which you'll be able to clothe Shank, including a Bruce Lee-inspired yellow jumpsuit (no Kareem Abdul-Jabbar footprint, though) and a shirtless "Red Ninja" getup.

NBA Jam developer diary mixes the old with the new

The NBA Jam developer diary posted below shows the considerations that went into solving the game's many artistic dilemmas. Like, how to make the game look new, but old? Rich, yet simple? Fun, yet serious? Modern, yet timeless? Basketball, yet golf? No, wait. Everything but that last one. ... continue reading.

Halfbrick follows up Fruit Ninja with Monster Dash chaser

Australian dev Halbrick Studios is running with the success of its iOS produce-slicing action game Fruit Ninja, releasing its latest game for the platform, Monster Dash, on the App Store late last night after introducing the world to it last week. Similar to Semi Secret Software's hit Canabalt, the title features similar "run for as long as possible while avoiding pits and walls" gameplay, with the addition of enemies and weapons.

As its name suggests, the game's bad guys are mummies, vampires, zombies and the like, and weapons range from a shotgun to the clever (and deadly) machinegun jetpack, which propels you skyward while raining bullets on baddies below. We've been having a lot of fun with this polished $0.99 release. Hit the App Store link below to see more.

Kane & Lynch 2 DLC begins in two weeks, game now on OnLive

Kane & Lynch 2 isn't just hitting the consoles and PC. It's heading straight into the future, into the cloud gaming service, OnLive. For a limited time, the service is offering a free game from the (very small) OnLive library when you purchase a pass to the sequel. This special version, we must note, does not include the option for multiplayer at the moment -- it'll be "enabled" for free on August 31.

If you already own the game (in a version that you can play with others), you can expect to start shelling out for DLC in a mere two weeks. Beginning August 31, three downloadable add-ons will be offered: Multiplayer Mask Pack, Alliance Weapon Pack and Doggie Bag Pack. All three packs extend the multiplayer experience by adding new heist locations and weapons. Good thing, too. We're certain that -- in the one day the game's been out -- you're already begging for DLC, right?
