US President Barack Obama stated during his recent meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Turkey had not been acting like an ally lately. Obama particularly criticized Turkey's support of Iran and its conflict with Israel connected with departure of the Freedom Flotilla incident. Ankara has been trying to sign a new contract with the USA for the delivery of MQ-9 Reaper drones. The aircraft can both conduct reconnaissance activities and strike Kurdish positions in Iraq. It is not ruled out, though, that the Turkish administration will have to bid farewell to the idea

American chicken legs, widely known in Russia as Bush's legs, have retuned to Russia. Russia has lifted the ban for 68 or 87 US-based poultry exporters. The ban was introduced on January 1, 2010 in connection with high concentrations of chlorine in American poultry. World Blood Donor Day was celebrated recently. Russia has its own National Blood Donor Day, and two years in a row a “donor’s Saturday” is held in early August. In the United States there are approximately 60 donors per 1,000 residents per year, in Europe this number is 40, and the average number in Russia is only 13. Blood transfusion specialists joke:”It doesn’t matter how bad of a person you are, there is always something good in you, approximately 4-5 liters."
