Blogs about: Random

To heck with organization. Not everything fits into neat little boxes, especially not our random thoughts and feelings of the day. To avoid labels or structure can be a fantastically freeing process, technically known as stream of consciousness. You may not consider yourself the next James Joyce, but your hard-to-define, mixed-bag random ramblings certainly matter to someone.

A day like no other
Real Life Drama

” what did you do today?” asks anyone, doesn’t matter, most often comes with the same response. “nothing, same shit different day” Today is one of those days that I can not say the same thing happened. Now I will break it down. It started last night, I was texting with a “friend” and it was like the simplest of conversations, we have never met before, we only know each other online. The conversation last night was different, no flirting, just conversation. We talked about kids and school, dog breeds and candy. Well last night was the only night in many nights that I actually felt tired. We said our good nights and I went to sleep. I have also been in pain for about a week. The lower left side of my back had been hurting for a while, I tried everything to make this pain go away, from stretching to sleeping on the hard wood floor. Last night was the worst the pain had ever been, I felt like I was in labor so I made an appointment to see my doctor

And the Wisdom to Know the Difference
.Credo Quia Absurdum Est.

Thank you all for attending my first rebirthday party! As this is my virtual AA meeting, I must warn you that today I am going to be shamelessly celebrating the life and times of booze-free Kat. August 16, 2010 marks exactly one calendar year since my last alcoholic beverage. That is 364 days longer than I ever anticipated, and, as cheesy as it sounds, I honestly find myself grateful for each one more than the last. To be clear– I am in no way against alcohol use. In fact, I love alcohol. Unhealthily. I have no problem with my friends enjoying cocktails, or even getting wasted. I can still go out and have a good time, and completely understand the enjoyment people get from having few of those socially lubricating beverages. I am not here to preach, guilt, or otherwise pass moral judgements. "Yo Ho Hoe & A Bottle of Rum 2008" Nor am I going to lament here about the person I was. Dragging her down at this juncture is redundant, and a disservice to who I’ve been.

Movie Rant
Ibby's Notebook

K, so last night my family and I were watching a movie ON OUR WII. Yes, you read that right. We get Netflix–wait you know what netflix is, right? You pay, like, 9 dollars a month and they send you dvds? It’s cool. So they have an instant screening disc that they can send to you, where you put it in your wii and you can choose any movies from your queue to watch instantly. I guess technically we’re still watching it on our tv, but I don’t like to be technical. We watched Race to Witch Mountain. It was okay. A bit too violent for my taste, but it had some funny parts and the effects were pretty good. After the movie I was all hypertired, meaning I was so tired I was hyper, and asked anybody who was listening if I could rant. Fun fact about me: I rant a lot. My definition of a rant is complaining/wondering aloud/venting your frustrations to someone, not necessarily with anger or other strong emotions. I’m always polite and ask before I rant. Another fun fact:

Yes the news is true, the spike is dead! On Friday I got a new haircut to go with my new age and so far it has been received with positive reviews. Ladies if you are having a bad date try giving the guy the “parent countdown.”  “I’m giving you 5 seconds to leave this bar… 1, 2, 2 ½.” Speaking of bad dates, guys you probably should not use the line “I’m not leaving this car until you give me a kiss.” The best way to deal with a “rude crew” in an elevator is too break wind. Mark likes Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Mercedes likes Skippy Peanut Butter (with such huge differences it’s a miracle they have made the show last for the past 13 years). The most popular prescription drug in the country is Vicodin. The most popular prescription drug at CBS Radio Las Vegas is Valtrex. Blair only eats Generic Cereal and says nothing beats the taste of Coco Dynomties. Mercedes says “once you go Chocolate Cheerios you never go back.”  Mercedes had a run in with Frankie Muniz.  She saw his band, You Hang

Who to blame for this blog
IJHTL's Blog

So I’ve been doing this blogging thing (in theory) for a while, and I’ve realised that I’ve never really done anything close to a real introduction type dealy. So, in view of my resolve to do better, here is something close to a real introduction type dealy. Of course, I’m not deluded enough to think that there are people who are interested in the details of my life, but perhaps people are bored enough to find some things about me as person interesting. To that end, some things about me: I’m a major video game geek. Any spare time I have is invariably spent playing video games, which probably isn’t healthy, but I never claimed to be the fit and healthy sort. As such, I’m also incredibly lazy. I’m currently unemployed, a state which I find incredibly vexing. Even though I am (admittedly) lazy, I’m still more than willing to work, and work hard. To that end, I volunteer two days a week in a charity shop (and I’d do more if I was
