The film will be released in disc-only DVD and Blu-Ray editions, as well as a DVD collector's edition. If you really want to drop some money on the Layton movie, the DVD + Blu-Ray Combi Pack includes both the DVD and Blu-Ray discs, as well as the gorgeous collector's edition packaging and a book of storyboards.
If you're in the US, ordering from Amazon UK is as simple as signing in with your American account. That leaves only the issue of region-coding -- at the moment, there's no information about the coding on either version of the movie.
The latest Japanese trailer for Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded features some startling freshness for the action-RPG series: gameplay segments featuring different genres. Footage of turn-based combat, platforming and even a Space Harrier-style shoot 'em up wait in the trailer below.
Sega today reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to creating game tie-ins to Marvel's (will-be) Avengers flicks. Following its recent pair of Iron Man games and The Incredible Hulk, Sega will launch Thor: The Video Game across major platforms next year -- and almost certainly around the release of the Thor film, due out May 6, 2011. (Marvel previously pegged the Thor game for May.)
The Thor games will be forged into three experiences: A God of War-type third-person adventure, featuring "tide-turning elemental powers" and "25 foot tall, 12 ton Ice Trolls," is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360; while the Wii version will add a twist -- and a hammer smash, presumably -- with its motion controls, in addition to taking on a "uniquely styled comic book look" (read: not in HD) that it will share with the PSP iteration. Finally, the DS Thor game will be presented as a 2D side-scrolling adventure and feature its own narrative, distinct from the other versions.
No word from Sega on the Captain America game yet; though the movie's still on for next July, and Sega's got the game rights.

The Nintendo Channel doesn't have much for us this week. There is a new episode of Nintendo Week and some Sin & Punishment: Star Successor tips, but you've seen the latter already. Head past the break for the list of this week's content.
GameStop has quite a sale going on, offering used and new games for up to fifty percent off both in store and online. Warner Bros. Interactive will have demo stations for the adjective-enhanced adventure in its booth (#4545). Those who go to check it out will get an adjective of their own, thanks to a $5 Best Buy coupon to turn their own copies of Super Scribblenauts into cheap copies. The publisher released this charming artwork today as well, depicting some adjectivized objects found within the game. A plaid kappa! A wooden cat, in a furry cup, maybe? A tiny, striped, winged elephant! These are things that you can use in a video game to solve puzzles!
For those about to rock -- well, you should probably just cool your jets, as you've still got a little while to wait. A press release from Harmonix has announced that its upcoming, keyboard-infused rhythm title Rock Band 3 will hit North American store shelves on October 26, 2010.
Accompanying this announcement was the unveiling of the pre-order bonuses being offered by major retailers. Folks who reserve the title at Wal-Mart get a $10 e-Gift card. Those who go with Amazon will unlock an exclusive in-game guitar. Pre-orderers who go with GameStop will be able to download three songs for free at launch: "My Own Summer" by The Deftones, "Blue Monday" by New Order and "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads.
So, yeah. We'll go ahead and let you guess which retailer we're going to settle on. Go ahead. Think really hard.
Note: The press release is posted after the break.
