'Man Vs. Wild' Star: Zac Efron Is Welcome to Join Me

By Jane Levere  Posted Aug 13th 2010 03:25PM
Bear Grylls on 'Man Vs. Wild'Bear Grylls, survival expert and extreme adventurer, made a brief visit to New York this week after filming the fifth season of his hit Discovery Channel series, 'Man Vs. Wild.'

Grylls spoke to PopEater about the new season's seven episodes, including the special 'Fan Vs. Wild' show, in which two viewers travel with him for the first time to experience extreme survival firsthand, the possibility of Zac Efron joining him in the wild, his eating habits (both in the wild and at home) and his new video game.

I gather you're pals with Will Ferrell because you did an episode with him last season. What celebrities do you think could make it in the wild with you besides Ferrell?
Zac Efron wrote the other day that he'd love to do an episode together, so I'm quite keen to explore that one. We've literally just finished filming season five, so I'm kind of focusing on going home now, having a quick rest, and we'll start filming the next stuff in September. We've got lots of people [who are interested], it's just whether it's right for Discovery to do it or not.

Ricky Gervais Taking 'The Office' to China, Won't Be Replacing Steve Carell

By The Editors of TV Squad  Posted Aug 13th 2010 02:00PM
Ricky Gervais announced yesterday that he's bringing 'The Office' to China, proving that day-to-day workplace minutiae and incompetent bosses aren't unique to the Western world.

The New York Post reports that the British comedian is expanding his beloved series -- which began as a 14-episode BBC show and spawned a mega-successful American version now in it seventh season, as well as French, German and Chilean versions, among others -- with a Chinese version.

"I have some amazing news," Gervais wrote on his blog. "We are about to start work on developing a Chinese 'The Office.' How cool is that?"

Dina Lohan Felt 'Ambushed' By Matt Lauer: Friend

By PopEater Staff  Posted Aug 13th 2010 01:08PM
Lindsay LohanMatt Lauer put Dina Lohan in the hot seat on Friday, pressing the showbiz mom to defend daughter Lindsay Lohan and address long-hovering scrutiny for the way she raised the troubled starlet. It was a tense 11 minutes of television, with Lohan appearing uneasy and even combative at times.

"Dina felt ambushed by Matt," a family friend told PopEater after speaking with Lohan. "She was surprised how many tough questions he asked."

According to our source, Lohan wanted to focus the 'Today' chat on Judge Marsha Revel's alleged mishandling of her daughter's case, along with her take on the media's portrayal of Lindsay.

"She didn't understand why [Lauer] kept asking her those other questions -- she knows she's a great mother and Lindsay will get out of rehab soon," the friend insists. "Everyone makes mistakes, it's just that Lindsay makes it into the papers."

Julia Roberts Is Lucky to Still Be So Lovable

By Jo Piazza  Posted Aug 13th 2010 01:00PM

For women of a certain age, Julia Roberts is like a dinner of cotton candy and macaroni and cheese. She is comfort food for the soul. So lovely is she today that it is easy to forget that Julia has dodged many an image bullet, and the lovable actress is lucky that her personal drama played out before the advent of the 24/7 gossip news cycle.

What gets us so jazzed about Julia's movies today is that her time promoting a film is a rare moment that we get a glimpse into her private life. This isn't a woman who features regularly in the celebrity weeklies or is overplayed in ads for makeup or perfume. There's very little of Julia to go around, so when she speaks (as she is doing right now to promote 'Eat Pray Love') we listen.

Lea MicheleAlthough Lea Michele may be channeling Britney Spears for an upcoming episode of 'Glee,' she says she's never felt pressure to look like the pop princess.

In a recent interview, the brunette beauty credits being raised by an Italian mom and Jewish dad with boosting her body confidence.

"I come from a big Italian family and the pressure is not really anything I've been raised to feel," Michele, 23, says, according to an Us Weekly report.

"I've always been proud of my body, my Jewish nose and all of that. Hollywood's Hollywood, but that's not going to change."

'The Expendables' and 'Eat Pray Love' Have 15 Things in Common -- Seriously

By The Editors of Vulture  Posted Aug 13th 2010 11:33AM
'The Expendables' and 'Eat Pray Love' Have 15 Things in Common -- SeriouslyEarlier this month, a call to arms on behalf of Sylvester Stallone's old guy blow-'em-up 'The Expendables' went out on the Internet, in the form of a movie trailer. The trailer chastised men: "You've been handing the keys to Hollywood to teenage girls and G.N.O," before identifying the Julia Roberts vehicle 'Eat Pray Love,' a film daring to open on the same day, as the enemy. It then exhorted all people with penises to remember that, in 'The Expendables,' "the only men you're allowed to love, are together at last," so, "If this loses to 'Eat Pray Love'? You don't. Deserve. To be. A. Man."

Unfortunately for both fabricated beefs and neurotic masculinity, the 'Eat Pray Love'/'Expendables' face-off is not quite the crucible of gender relations it's been billed as: Turns out, Julia Roberts finding herself is not as dissimilar from Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Mickey Rourke destroying things as you might imagine. This chick flick and this d**k flick actually have a lot in common! Fifteen things, to be exact. Consider the similarities -- from questing heroes who like to help people in the Third World while wearing floppy hats, to sidekicks with tragic backstories and love interests with Spanish accents -- in this slideshow. >>See all the similarities over at Vulture!

Exclusive: Teri Hatcher 'Surprised' by Bath Pic Reaction

By PopEater Staff  Posted Aug 13th 2010 10:57AM
Naked Teri HatcherA naked, dripping wet Teri Hatcher caused quite a stir this week after she shared some up-close-and-personal pics of herself to prove she's au naturel.

"Believe me this whole reaction could not be a bigger surprise," the actress exclusively tells PopEater.

Her decision to show her face without makeup opened up yet another debate on women and plastic surgery, with many news sites and gossip blogs picking up the story and fleshy photos. But Hatcher wasn't trying to make some grand statement.

"She didn't do it to get attention or start a huge debate," a friend of the actress tells us. "She thought just her fans would see the pictures. It was a spur of the moment decision that she had no idea would get a huge reaction. Definitely a surprise."

The 'Desperate Housewives' star, 45, posted the photos to her Facebook page right after getting out of the bath in response to ongoing rumors she's had massive amounts of cosmetic work done.
