Had a chance to look at the M's-Yanks game, bottom of six. Jeter lines out on a decent rope. Then Felix Hernandez takes Mark Teixeira and turns him in to a Washington General.
oof indeed. Happy weekend all.
In his last four at-bats Cabrera has hit three home runs, including the 2-run dinger that put the Yanks down 2-0 in the first inning of today's game. Hughes is facing Porcello at the Stadium and the Yankees are facing a division race against two teams that seem to be clicking on all cylinders. Comment away.
Jim Leyland is f*cking cool. I don't know how or why, but that's how and why I will never be. Max Scherzer and Javier Vazquez are pitching tonight. Comment away.
Another extra hot day across most of the country. Water sounds like a good idea. There's also Yanks-Royals and Sox-Rangers for your viewing pleasure. Comment away.
Sorry guys, I'm late, but gerbil needs to get a new wheel(s) after his last sweetheart (xs 850) got laid out to pasture by a moving immovable object and he has been delayed by vicious Friday traffic trying to find something that isn't a motorcycle that doesn't piss him off too much. Gerbil is particularly fond of those old yet amazingly new-lookyish, fanatical and run forever Toyota Previas for the blooming gerbil brood, but those Toys are surprisingly expensive, even 16 years down the line. Maybe a Dodge-ish thing is more prudent? Advice welcome. More importantly, the games are on, so please do comment away on this fine Friday night.
Clay Buchholz has been rather remarkable in this season, and has put together three fantastic starts against the Angels, Tigers, and Yankees. He faces Toronto led by Shaun Marcum at Rogers Centre. Comment away.
Mark Teixeira will stay in Greenwich with his wife and newborn. Good for him, it's what a father should do. In the mean time, it's Vazquez at Arlington where Mr. Scary Man Cliff Lee hosts the Bombers.

I miss Toronto. I-90 to the QEW, getting passed by old ladies 'cause my shitbox Ford Escort could only do 65, but still less than three hours to the EX. Good times.
Back-to-back doubles from Ortiz and Beltre have given Boston a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. DiceK is on the mound for Boston, Ricky Romero for the Jaybirds. Comment away.
Jon and Joe bring the game on ESPN. Josh Beckett goes for the Sox, while AJ is a scratch due to stiffness in his back resulting in Dustin Mosely picking up the start. Comment away on your Sunday Night Baseball action.
Clay Buchholz is on the mound for the Sox, while Javier Vazquez pitches for the Bombers. Comment away.
Daisuke Matsuzaka is putting together a thoroughly respectable season. He faces rookie Josh Tomlin, who was fantastic in his debut against the Yankees and did a good job in his second outing against the Jays. The Yankees are idle as the Bombers and Sox head towards a four-game series starting tomorrow in the Bronx, but first things first. Comment away.
Ever have one of those "wanna getaway days?"
Yeah, me too. Comment away.
The Bombers are up 2-0 thanks to ARod's 600th home run of his career.
