News.com.au nominated for 'News Website of the Year' at PANPAs

NEWS.COM.AU has been named a finalist for "News Website of the Year" for the second year in a row.

News.com.au last year won the award which is handed out annually by the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers’ Association.

News.com.au is one of seven finalists. The others are Adelaidenow.com.au, theage.com.au, theaustralian.com.au, nzherald.co.nz, st.com.sg and stuff.co.nz.

The annual PANPA awards, to be announced on August 26, celebrate the best newspapers and websites across the Asia-Pacific region.

More than 600 entries were received this year, PANPA chief executive Mark Hollands said in a statement.

“Many judges who have taken part in similar industry awards have said this is the highest standard of entry they have seen,” Mr Hollands said. “That says much about the professionalism of our industry.”
