Outrage as boy's wheelchair ruined during flight

A TEN-year-old boy was left stranded in a hotel room after his wheelchair was damaged during a flight.

Tanner Bawn was travelling on an Air Canada flight from Toronto to New York on Wednesday when the incident occurred.

However his dream of racing around Central Park in a tutu was shattered when his family discovered his $US15,000 custom-built wheelchair had been damaged.

Tanner was left confined to his hotel room, initially told by the airline that nothing could be done until the following Monday.

However a wave of Twitter outrage over the situation is believed to be behind the earlier return of the wheelchair, which was delivered to his hotel room the following day.

The airline has apologised over the situation and has promised to investigate.
