Welsh Affairs Office, Cardiff

Welcome to the Welsh Affairs Office, the Cardiff Virtual Presence Post (VPP) of the U.S. Embassy in the United Kingdom. We appreciate your visit.

Ties between Wales and the United States have always been strong, whether judged by distinguished individuals (such as the 16 signers of the Declaration of Independence and 11 U.S. Presidents who were of Welsh descent) or bilateral ties (currently approximately 180 American companies employ over 30,000 people).

The Cardiff VPP and the designation of a Welsh Affairs officer occurred November 2000. This created a central point of contact between the Embassy and the people of Wales, resulting in greater opportunities for business, cultural, education and government contacts.

On this page is information for American citizens, about tourism and studying in the United States, how to make business contacts with American firms, news from the United States, and much more. We hope that you find this page helpful.
