Only 2 weeks left to submit!

Hey all,

Just a quick update to all you filmmakers, artists and video creators: you only have a little over two weeks to submit your work! That’s not a lot of time, so if you’re on the fence, you might as well submit for a chance to win big promotion on Vimeo and have your work judged by our esteemed judges. Remember, best overall video wins a $25,000 grant to produce new work; just think of what you could create with all that mullah!

Also, we need your help! Since there are so many great creators sharing their work online, it’s hard to get the word out to everyone about the Awards. If you have friends or know of people that you think deserve a Vimeo Award, nominate their work, or contact them to submit. We would greatly appreciate it, and they might too!

More updates in the next few days.

Announcing The Vimeo Festival and Awards!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have some pretty exciting news around these parts! Today, right now, we are announcing the very first Vimeo Festival and Awards (applause!).

Yep, we’re doing it, and it’s going to be awesome. The Vimeo Festival and Awards will be a celebration of the best original and creative video that has premiered online. Our goal is to reward the individual creators behind online video and acknowledge the internet as a quality medium of expression and distribution. And of course, we’re going to do it in style.

The awards will be open to anyone who has premiered their work on any online platform. This isn’t just a Vimeo thing, it’s a video thing, and we’re opening it up to everyone. The festival will then highlight the best of online video in an exciting offline environment for all to attend. We’re cooking up some pretty cool stuff for these events, folks, and we can’t wait to tell you more about our plans.

But first, take a deep breath, maybe sit down if you need to — we know, we can’t wait either! We’ll be announcing plenty more details in the coming weeks, but you can stay in the loop by signing up for updates on the Vimeo Awards site.

Love,

The Vimeo Team
