FOREIGN OFFICE MINISTER BILL RAMMELL REACTS TO EXPLOSIONS IN UZBEKISTAN

Reacting to the explosions in Uzbekistan today, Foreign Office Minister Bill Rammell said:

"I was shocked to hear of the explosions at the U.S. and Israeli Embassies and an Uzbek Government building in Tashkent on 30 July. The Government extends its sympathy to the victims and their families. We condemn terrorism in all its forms and the international community must be united in the struggle to defeat it. In doing so we must combine determination with carefully-judged responses. The rule of law is one of our strongest defences against the disorder which terrorists seek to create."
