Obama back in Chicago for rare visit on 49th birthday President Obama arrived in his adopted hometown of Chicago for a rare visit in which he hopes to combine business and pleasure, having a birthday party for himself — he turns 49 today — and touring a Ford Motor factory he cites as an example of how his stimulus plan has helped the economy. Perhaps most importantly, Obama is here to raise money for his basketball buddy, state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias.

Art uses CTA to move you If a certain Orange Line train looks a little more colorful on Saturday, there's a reason. It just might be the world's largest mobile art exhibit. Now in its third year, Art on Track transforms an eight-car Chicago Transit Authority train --rented for the day -- into a moving art gallery. It's the brainchild of 23-year-old artist Tristan Hummel. "Three years ago, I saw a newspaper article about how you could charter a CTA train," Hummel says. "I thought the CTA might make an awesome alternative venue to show work, and the novelty of it might draw a different group than the usual gallery crowd."

Examiner: 2 Tribune execs engaged in fraud during sale Two top executives at Tribune Co. engaged in "intentional fraud" in late 2007 when working to finish the $8.2 billion sale of the company to Sam Zell, an examiner said in a 1,500-page inquest into its bankruptcy. Chandler Bigelow, a company treasurer who was promoted to chief financial officer after Zell took over, and former Senior Vice President of Finance Donald Grenesko falsely assured the deal's financiers that the company had an opinion from Morgan Stanley that it could refinance debt in 2014, the examiner said.
