What’cha Readin’? The Reveal in See a Little Light - The Trail of Rage and Melody by Bob Mould

I'm making good progress on our book of the month, See a Little Light - The Trail of Rage and Melody by Bob Mould, and I'm really enjoying it. As I expected, Mould is frank, unapologetic, and candid about his life and work, which goes back 30 years now, when punk, hardcore, and power pop were in their infancy. I'm now reading about Bob's move to Hoboken, NJ where he fled to find his footing as a solo artist in the late 80s, after the stressful unravelling of his first proper band, Hüsker Dü, one of the most significant American musical enterprises ever. Among the book's compelling revelations is Bob's version of a story he claims has never been told: the manner in which the three members of Hüsker Dü were all in the same room for the last time. 23 years after the fact, it's really no one's business (if it ever was) but its inclusion befits Mould's forthright, no holds barred approach to literally make his world an open book.

Are you reading our book of the month for October? Do you have any questions for Bob Mould about his book? Has an author's openness ever left you uncomfortable or, instead, clamouring for more? Which band's break-up do you wish you could learn more about? Otherwise, what'cha readin'?
