The Best Cosplay and Photos from Comic-Con 2010
It's not Comic-Con without cosplay, and as tradition demanded, this year's show attracted some of the most profoundly fun-to-look-at costumed fans from around the country.
An assemblage of cosplayers gained notoriety for counterprotesting Fred Phelps and the Westoro Baptist Church, but no less exuberance buzzed throughout the San Diego Convention Center's numerous halls and expansive show floor. While many costumes demonstrated sheer technical craftsmanship, others exemplified the kind of creativity that differentiates a genuine replica from an enthusiastic nod to pop culture's most iconic heroes and villains.
Costumes aside, ComicsAlliance was on hand to capture some additional thrilling moments from the show. Thanks to surprising cosplayers at every turn, our trigger fingers were at the ready to whip out a camera and snap the glory of the show in full. See some of our favorite cosplayer sightings and snapshot worthy events from the convention after the jump.

DC's Zazzle Store Has T-Shirts, Skateboards and More on Sale
On the off chance that you don't have enough stuff at your house with super-hero logos on it, take heart!
From now until Sunday, the DC Comics Store at Zazzle.com is part of a big 30% off sale, and they have some seriously awesome stuff.
It's part of their back-to-school deal, and it's not just t-shirts. They've got binders, mousepads, hats, keychains, stickers and of course, skateboards, so it's well worth checking out. After the jump, a few of my favorite products.

10 Thoughts on 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World'
All things considered, I think it's fair to say that this year's San Diego Comic-Con was Scott Pilgrim's show.
Not only did the convention coincide with the release of the sixth and final graphic novel in Bryan Lee O'Malley's series, "Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour," but there was an incredible amount of anticipation and promotion for Edgar Wright's film version, which hits theaters on August 13. The Bayfront Hilton was draped in a massive version of the poster that covered a good ten floors, buses were decked out in ads, "The Scott Pilgrim Experience" was happening across the street from the convention center -- you couldn't get away from it.
Bigger than those, though, were the actual screenings of the film. Fans waited in line for hours for it, and as one of the perks of the Fourth Estate, I managed to get in and see it myself. The short version is that I thought it was great, but for the longer version, I've got my ten thoughts on the movie.

New 'Green Lantern' Movie Posters Show off Sinestro and Hector Hammond
Despite early controversy over Ryan Reynold's musclature-tastic Green Lantern costume, fans who caught a preview of next summer's GL film seemed pretty enthused on the upcoming comic book adaptation when we caught them at Comic-Con over the weekend. For those who weren't able to get an early look at the movie, however, Warner Bros.' newly-released promotional posters provide a closer look at the film's most massive (and evil) foreheads.
The four connecting posters showcase Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, Mark Strong as Sinestro and Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond, each tagged with a portion of the Green Lantern Oath's opening verse. While each character's face is framed by half of a lantern, the film's heroes are encased in green, while Hammond's lantern fades to yellow. It's nice to see some foreshadowing on the part of Sinestro and Hammond's shared yellowing lantern since we know he'll be introduced as a hero initially in next summer's film.

DC Universe Classics Wave 16 Images Surface
Fans will have to wait until an unspecified date of the third financial quarter of this year to pick up Mattel's 16th wave of DC Universe Classics toys, but the toymaker's Comic-Con booth has at least shed some light on what the action figures will look like.
The line includes six brand new figures of Azreal Batman in Knightfall Armor, Creeper, Classic Robin (with vintage or modern head), Jonah Hex, Mercury and Riddler, along with two "best of" reissues of Deathstroke and the Joker.
This line is pretty heavy on classic interpretations of characters (Has Azrael had enough costumes to have a "classic" look now?), which has its pros and cons. Riddler's spandex uniform makes him seem like a guy who could actually punch Batman, while Jonah Hex's classic duds have been done before enough that it'd be nice to see his insane post "Crisis on Infinite Earths" sci-fi reboot costume for once. Or maybe not. Either way, the toys are currently up for pre-order at the Big Bad Toy Store.

Activison Unveils Four New Skins for 'Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions'
Judging by what we've seen so far from the game, it's pretty clear that Activision/Beenox's "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" will be unlike any Spider-Man video game ever produced -- from the different versions of the character, to the totally unique environments, to the groundbreaking gameplay. Not to mention -- no Spider Clones!
Oh, wait...
As shown on Kotaku, hot on the heels of the recently announced fourth playable character in the game -- the black Symbiote Ultimate Spider-Man -- Marvel and Activision have announced four more playable skins that will be available for download depending on where you pre-order the game (to go along with the already seen Iron and Captain Universe Spider-Men). As you can see, K-Mart shoppers will be able to take on the role of Ben Reilly (a.k.a. The Scarlet Spider), and after the jump, we've got the three other skins button mashers can download for the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man [JUMP]

Ratchet and Clank Comics Kick Off In September From WildStorm
The most famous heroic Lombax/robot team in video games should instantly snag the equivalent status in comics when DC/WildStorm launches a new Ratchet and Clank series on September 3. The comics will pick up where the franchise last left off on the PlayStation 3 in 2009's "Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time" with a follow-up story by Insomniac Games senior writer T.J. Fixman and artwork by Adam Archer.
"After working on two full adventures and one downloadable mini-adventure, I'm extremely excited to help bring Ratchet and Clank to the comic book world," Fixman wrote in a message posted on the official PlayStation blog. "Over the years, we at Insomniac have watched like doting parents as the Ratchet & Clank mythology grew from a few small planets in the Solana Galaxy to a living, breathing universe full of fun characters and exotic alien worlds."
