Troy Olsen Will 'Get Right Tonight' on Tour

    EMI Records Nashville

Troy Olsen fans will have the chance to catch the Arizona cowboy in concert when the he takes to the road for his Get Right Tonight tour. While the southwestern U.S. has been aware of Troy for some time, the rest of the country will now see the singer/songwriter in his element, getting back to the comfort zone of live performance.

The writer of cuts for Blake Shelton ('I'll Just Hold On') and Tim McGraw ('Ghost Town Train'), tells Tucson's KVOA that getting someone like Tim to cut a song as opposed to George Strait is even tougher in some respects "because you have to fight the pop writers as well as the country writers. So the fact that it's on his record is amazing, but I'm hoping it will be a single for me."

Joe Nichols Uses Humor to Address Fertility Issues

    Frederick Breedon, Getty Images

Joe Nichols went beyond the normal chitchat when he was a guest on 'The View' recently, discussing some pretty private, intimate things between he and wife Heather, like their fertility testing. Clearing it with Heather first to make sure she was OK with him talking about the issue on national television, the singer decided humor was the best way to go when opening up about their personal life. He joked that when he was finished with his part of the process, he left the TV in the private room he was using on a gardening show, just to have a little fun with the nurses on duty.

"We'd talked about that subject matter beforehand, and they asked if I had a funny anecdote I could talk about," Joe tells Ladies Home Journal. "I said 'I can talk about this,' and they said, 'That'd be great! That'd be funny!' Heather was, like, 'Mmmm, I don't know. Let's think about that.' Before we went on I said to her, 'If you don't want me to talk about it, I won't. But I think it'd be funny, and she said 'If you must talk about it, fine.' It still embarrassed her a little bit. But you know, you've got to poke fun at that kind of thing because it's such an uptight situation. Everybody's already so uncomfortable. You gotta laugh it off."

Tim McGraw Trades Shots for Sprints

    Danny Clinch

Tim McGraw is a changed man. He quit drinking more than two years ago, after years of living the party lifestyle out on the road. The husband of Faith Hill and father of three doesn't even know how he survived the early part of his career, but these days are definitely much easier to handle.

"Ten years ago you could recover from the road a lot quicker," Tim tells CMT. "In the past, to get warmed up for a show, everybody would do a shot or something. It warmed you up for the show, got you loose, and you're ready to go. I found myself halfway through the show before I really felt like I was into the show [and] felt like I was really able to enjoy it. Then by the time the show was over, I felt like I really wanted to keep going ... hence why you kept going after the show by having beers."

Jerrod Niemann Goes on a 'Light' Diet

Jerrod Niemann is planning a party. The singer who recently toppled Lady Antebellum from their No.1 perch on Billboard's country album chart -- a position the band held for six months -- is making preparations to take his show on the road. And he plans on keeping things "light."

"I already started taking my vitamins," Jerrod tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "My original plan was to find an IV drip with vitamins and water, but now I've decided I want my IV drip to be Bud Light."

No one was more surprised than Jerrod to see his CD, 'Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury,' reach No.1. But the Kansas native, who is signed to Brad Paisley's Sea Gayle label, says the one person he thought would buy his album was less than pleased. "We definitely weren't expecting that. We were hoping some people besides my mom would pick up a copy," Jerrod admits. "When my mom heard the record she said that it confirmed I was still in my terrible twos."

John Rich Keeps Rockin' All Day ... and Night

    Heather Ainsworth, AP

John Rich is like the Energizer bunny of country music -- he just keeps going and going and going. The musician always has his hand in several different projects, whether it's backing political candidates, writing songs, performing, recording and producing his own albums or ones for other artists, such as the new JaneDear Girls. He chalks up much of his success to his unwavering focus.

"I have worked really hard at every aspect," John tells Gibson.com. "I have a six-month old son, so I'm up all night. I don't waste a lot of time, don't watch TV, don't have vacations. My energy comes from making new music, from radio station people, writers to players to fans, all the humans who are involved in getting a song from a blank piece of paper to playing a show for 20,000 people. I have a responsibility to be professional, and to work with all those people. It's not an easy task, but that's what makes it worthwhile."

Lee Brice Experiences Life Again and Again Through His Songs

    Curb Records

Lee Brice has written literally thousands of songs, and while some tunes may still be as powerful as the day he wrote them, he finds others can give him a new perspective. One song in particular still affects him in just the same way as when he wrote it several years ago.

"With 'More Than a Memory [a No. 1 for Garth Brooks in 2007], I still feel the same way every single time I sing that song, the same exact way," Lee tells The Boot. "But also, I was just listening back through some demos the other day, I've got 3, 4, 500 songs piled away that I've written over the last 10 years. I was listening to one -- I remember when I wrote it, I had nothing in mind, just kind of making it up from ... how I would be. But I've had experiences in my life since then -- this is probably five years ago I wrote this song -- and even [with] stuff that's going on in my life right now, it feels like I wrote that song for this exact thing."
