BEGINNING in June and going right through 'til September, the 2010 ski season is set to be bigger and better than ever, with more parties, more festivals, and more chances to don your fancy dress clothes.

From drinking beer to hip hop concerts, you will have plenty to do at any ski field you visit. But it can be stressful trying to find out what events are on and which you should go to, so we have put together a gallery of the best festivals and parties on offer this ski season.

Here is just a taste of what's set to happen in 2010...

Mt Buller is again home to some of Australia's favourite festivities like the Beanie Festival, where the bigger the beanie is the better, and 80's Day - the perfect excuse to dig out your Wham! outfits and fluro leg warmers.

But if the combination of skiing and beer sounds more up your alley, why not enter Perisher Blue's annual Pub to Pub Classic, where you stop for a drink at every pub along the run, and wild costumes are more than acceptable.

There's even a hip hop offering, with Style Wars hitting Falls Creek and combining Australia's premier snowboarding festival with music from the likes of Calling All Cars and Space Invadas.

If you feel like heading overseas, the ten day Queenstown Winter Festival is on again, offering everything from art  to fireworks to vodka parties to live entertainment. Then they play host to the Southern Hemisphere's biggest gay and lesbian snow party, known as Gay Ski Week.

So grab your dairies - and your skis - and start planning your 2010 alpine party season now.
