What if we say the usual praise all Web Development Shops have in their homepages?
“We do ruby on rails (and associated technologies), exceptional web applications, best practices, focus on quality, elegance and performance, test/behavior driven development, pair programming, work with the client not just for the client, deliver value, etc…”
Would you believe us?… nah…
Then we just won’t try to convince you (although we DO satisfy all those sentences.) There, we said it.
Evan (rabble) has been building apps with Rails since the very first released version, 0.5 back in July 2004. He was the lead developer at odeo.com and the project architect for Yahoo! Fire Eagle, the first ruby on rails app to be launched by Yahoo. He threatens to finish writing a book on Testing Ruby on Rails for O'Reilly, but it remains a work in progress. When Rabble isn't coding on something, or talking at a conference, he likes go around and cause trouble.
Started programming at 8 years old when his mother bought him a TK-85 computer. Back in 2003 Diego discovered the ruby programming language in his search of a smalltalk-like feeling. Although it wasn't until 2006 that he got really immersed into the Rails community and started freelancing, having taught OOP&D at university feels good to know he was one of those that saw the power in ruby before Rails took the scene. Besides programming with ruby and other languages, he has been doing a myriad of linux sysadmin work since 2001.
Diego is a family man who enjoys weekends with his 2 children, wife and Airedale Terrier "Cala".
Daniel was a second year medical student when he decided that getting into the internals of computers was more fun than dissecting people. Thanks to this decision the uruguayan life expectancy hasn't plummeted.
Another decision he is happy about is leaving his static C# world to get in to the crazy and beautiful world of Ruby.
Bernardo is the youngest team member, and also the most ardent football fan in the office, he never misses any game and is almost as passionate about programming as he is about his team.
He started programing in php as a teenager and has then continued into the creation of web apps.
Alvaro is a developer passionate about programming and agile methodologies. His background is in C++ and .NET technologies, but now he is very happy working with web apps after meeting Ruby and Rails.
He is also the best ping pong player at the office and a happy father in love with his little baby.
Marcelo has been playing with computers and programming languages since he got his first PC in 1986, at the age of 12. He started making a life for his work as a developer/entrepreneur in 1994, and since 2000 he has been building Internet related applications, including site builders, CMSs and online shopping solutions. In 2007 he found Ruby and Rails, rediscovering the passion for programming after two years in the world of JEE, and since 2008 he has been working with RoR as a freelancer.
He enjoys his weekends with his lovely daughter and wife, and whenever he has the opportunity, plays some good tennis which is his other great passion.
Macarena brings a much needed feminine touch to the office. She is the one in charge of organizing the working space, along with providing coffee and fruit to her coworkers. When something needs to get done regarding the day to day running of the company she is the one to go to. She represents the non computer side of the business.
Macarena is also a student at university and hopes to one day become a successfull embassador at some foreign destination, since her dream is sail around the world.
Federico one of the newer additions to the Cubox team, he comes from the Telecommunications field, but realized that Software was his true passion. He has been working with rails since 1.2 and he is passionate about prorgamming languages.
He also likes esoteric programming languages like Haskell and is starting to learn Clojure.
Bruno one of the newer additions to the Cubox team, he comes from the Telecommunications field, but realized that Software was his true passion. Before joining Cubox he was a contributor to the Kannel SMS project.
