How Robert Pattinson Is Dealing With His Fame

By Jo Piazza  Posted Jun 27th 2010 01:00PM
    Robert Pattinson
Being the object of thousands of women's affection, the leading man in one of the most successful movie franchises of all time and the more ebullient half of a very famous couple is taxing. So taxing that maybe Robert Pattinson is, dare we say, a little over it. And we can't even fault him for it.

"He is an actor in a film that became much more than he expected. His life is no longer his own simply because of a job he took. Every aspect of his life is under scrutiny, and his fans are ravenous. They want to know everything about him. He has zero privacy and as with most suddenly famous actors, fame is not what he expected," explains psych expert and 'Cult of Celebrity' author Cooper Lawrence. "Fame is its own life and it has nothing to do with acting. Not everyone can or should handle it. Some people want to live a private life too. He doesn't get to."

By PopEater / Wire Services  Posted Jun 27th 2010 09:32AM
Michael JacksonBidders from around the world bought up Michael Jackson memorabilia worth nearly $1 million at an auction on the anniversary of his death, including $190,000 for the Swarovski-crystal-studded glove he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour.

The bidding that began Friday on more than 200 items was "unlike anything we've ever experienced," said Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions, which ran the auction at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Some items, like the glove, brought 10 times more than their estimated value, he said.

"It just shows you Michael Jackson is the most sought after and most collectible celebrity of all time. It was just phenomenal," Julien told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Robert Pattinson And Kristen Stewart's Deliciously Suspicious Romance

By Ben Widdicombe  Posted Jun 26th 2010 06:45PM
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are perfect for each other. Perpetually in bad moods, they glower at the cameras and give grumpy sound bites and generally behave as if their money and fame is some vast burden on their young shoulders. Compared to them, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg look like Snooki and The Situation making out in a hot-tub.

Of course, if you're too young to know who Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are, then R-Pattz and K-Stew are probably your romantic role models. If 'Twilight' fans are trusting enough to let a vampire nuzzle their necks, they're hardly going to suspect a studio of being so cynical as to fake a relationship between its stars in order to sell movie tickets. But let's take a closer look at that relationship, shall we?

Miley Who? Taylor Momsen Is the Teen Star We Should Be Worried About

By Amber James  Posted Jun 26th 2010 10:00AM
    Taylor Momsen and Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus can't catch a break. It seems like the world refuses to let her grow up. Everyone expects her to stay Hannah Montana forever, but it's time to face the facts -- it's not going to happen. She can't be tamed, and the more she's criticized, the more likely it becomes that she'll lash out with more risque outfits and girl-on-girl kissing. Come on, she's a 17-year-old teenage girl. They don't want to be told what they can and can't do. What's really bizarre is why the world is so focused on her when there are other teen stars acting the same way. Honestly, ever since 'Gossip Girl' star Taylor Momsen started wearing excessive dark eye makeup, donning her now trademark thigh-high garters and declared her hatred for wearing pants, why have we accepted that it's okay for this 16-year-old to be a role model ... when Cyrus is criticized for taking a wrong breath. Both underage girls rose to fame as cute actresses and then decided to hit the mainstream music scene. For the record, Momsen is younger than Cyrus. Gasp! So what's with the double standard?
