The Democrats on the House Education and Labor Committee in their new series "Meet the Freshmen" have put a video on YouTube in which Dina Titus talks about her top priorities:
Something amazing happened yesterday. Maybe it isn't revolutionary, but hopefully it will be evolutionary. The Commerce & Labor Committee of the Nevada Senate agreed to domestic partnerships (or "DP's"). Unfortunately it's not marriage, but let me explain to you why this is a major step forward for equality in the Mountain West.
The Economist has an interesting article on cowboy poetry in its latest edition which also mentions the festival in Elko. Check it out.
PS: You have probably noticed that this blog has not been updated for a while. The reason for that is both a little bit of burnout after the election was over and at the same time I'm currently working on my master thesis and putting all my energy into finishing this. I plan on reactivating My Silver State in late spring/early summer.
