Delicious Scopitone posted a video from LA acid-psych punks Allah Lahs but it made its way to me through blog-bro Part-Time Music. Not a whole lot of linear thought in this dizzy collaged video; but it works well with the spacesick pscych reminiscent of early BJM.
Originally sold out Seek Magic is getting a repress by Acephale and has already been made available. Stay tuned to We’re Tapes, as other tracks from the album are set for a remix job as well.

Best Coast’s new song has arguably hit crooner-status; hints of 50s doo-wop and Ronettes’ chamber-popping wall of sound production make this probably the most complete Best Coast song Ive heard, nothing short of magic a 2 minute magic here.
Taking a sample from one of the most beautiful songs ever written could very well end poorly for a young band and be ammo for backlash, luckily in this case Prince Rama unabashedly pulls this off. The song then segues into dusty-synthetic sounds and a veritable storyline-epic that would make Werner Herzog blush. The record is apparently (as most should) to be listened to in one sitting and as a whole but this beautifully-spooky shortened soundscape will have to do, the LP Architecture of Utopia is out on Animal Image Search and you may find the purchasing directions here.
Some bro named ( . )( . ) (tits?) “directed” this unofficial fan “video collage”of Gauntlet Hair’s amazing “I Was Thinking…”. Their single 7″, available on Forest Family Records, should be available for pre-order very soon.
Baltimore label, Friends Records, has just announced the release of their first mixtape. An eclectic mix ranging from noise to R&B to dub, this tape’s repertoire runs deep and should attract tastes all over. Featuring several artists with scheduled releases on Friends (Weekends & Height w/ Friends) as well as some potential candidates, Friends and Friends of Freinds is available as a free download or to be purchased tangibly as a cassette (at some point).
Twin Sis covering Daft Punk’s “Something About Us” on a rooftop somewhere in NYC. Thanks to Chocolate Bobka for the tip and Ian Perlman for the lens work.

While we’re at it, check out this live recording of song-of-the-year contender “All Around and Away We Go” from the same rooftop.
A solo project from Mark Ryan of the legendary Marked Men, Mind Spiders are yet another reason to add to the vigor of the North Texas music scene. A 7″ EP on red vinyl (for the first 200 copies) is available now through Dirtnap Records and features catchy pop gems like “World’s Destroyed”, which you can grab below. Get it for cheap right here.
