Loco Bar

SkyCity, North Tce, city Ph: 8218 4273 New kid on the block, Loco is making waves with its unusual stockmarket drink prices, great mix of cocktails and drinks right in the heart of SkyCity. A bird's eye view of the passing parade as well.

Boho Bar

27 Unley Rd, Unley Ph: 8271 0274 Another newbie, Boho has a Moulin Rouge-style feel of red velvet and funky couches over three levels and a great cocktail menu. The waiters even perform fancy tricks while mixing your favourite poison.

Enigma Bar

173 Hindley St, city Ph: 8212 2313 A groovy little cafe serving herbal tea and pints during the day, Enigma is the heart of Adelaide?s hardcore music scene at night.

Zhivago

155 Waymouth St, city Ph: 8212 0569 Near Light Square with a style of its own, it has laid-back music and a good range of cocktails and wines by the glass. A younger crowd on a Friday night.

Isobar

134 Hindley St, city Ph: 8221 5004 A bit of a club/bar featuring large dancefloor and quiet lounge sections, Isobar has a better-than-average cocktail menu.

Supermild

182 Hindley St, city Ph: 8212 8077 Small dance floor, cosy atmosphere which serves long-neck beers and a seductive cocktail menu. Just watch out for the cacti.

Banque Bar

107-109 O?Connell St, North Adelaide Ph: 8267 6999 Another cosy cocktail bar, a Banque bartender recently winning a cocktail-mixing competition should tell you something about the way liquor is handled here. A friendly atmosphere and a pub-like layout, the Banque is a great place for functions.

Moskva Vodka Bar

192 Hindley St, city Ph: 8211 9007 If you enjoy the devilish white spirit, then this bar has the variations to keep you amused. Small and sometimes a little crowded, Moskva is a hidden treat and is popular with the ladies.

Chalkers 8-Ball

112 Jetty Rd, Glenelg Ph: 8376 0202 An institutional pool hall down by the Bay, Chalkers has been a popular stopping point along Jetty Rd for many years. A good variety of tables ringed by comfy chairs and couches, it has drink specials and a good variety of music.

Fumo Blu

270 Rundle St, city Ph: 8232 2533 A trendy cigar lounge with a retro design, featuring tropical fish. Fumo Blu serves cocktails, a good range of spirits, cheeses oh, and, of course, Cuban cigars which are kept in a huge walk-in humidor.

The Bar on Gouger

The Mars Bar

120 Gouger St, city Ph: 8231 9639 Adelaide?s best-known gay bar (although you don?t have to be gay to attend), the Mars Bar is really an inhibition-free dance club with great drinks and large dance floor.

Frostbites

471 Pulteney St, city Ph: 8232 3252 Something different, Frostbites is a summer hit because of its frozen range of cocktails served quickly and efficiently. It is a very popular venue for birthdays and occasionally has live music.

Charlton's Pool Lounge

Shop 2051A, Westfield Marion Ph: 8358 4999 One of the Marion big three, Charlton?s is the place to be if you want a break from the dancing and really loud music of New York Bar and Grill and Shenannigans. Not too many tables, this is made up for by some outrageous drink specials and a nice outdoor drinking area.

Lotus Lounge

268 Morphett St , city Ph: 8231 0312 A retro chic cocktail lounge with DJs on weekends, the Lotus offers a pleasant courtyard setting highlighted by a delightful little tiki hut. It has a nice variety of wines by the glass, but specialises in fancy cocktails.

Apothecary 1878

Spats

108 King William Rd, Goodwood Ph: 8272 6170 A dim, boothed little joint with homey touches - even lacy curtains, Spats has a keen local following who enjoy late-night drinks and coffees. A step back in time to the 1970s with a bit of food available.

The Treasury

144 King William St, Adelaide Ph: 8212 0499 This is the place where the who?s who of Adelaide schmooze. Although listed as a hotel, the Treasury has a great dimly lit bar with a fantastic courtyard drinking/eating area.
