Revues.org is the platform for journals in the humanities and social sciences, open to quality periodicals looking to publish full-text articles online. It is run by the Centre for Open Electronic Publishing(Cléo), a unit that brings together the CNRS, the EHESS, the Université de Provence and the Université d’Avignon. It is an active part of the Très Grand Équipement ADONIS (TGE-ADONIS) network. It offers a full range of solutions for electronic publishing and academic communication.
More than 200 journals have already joined the platform in the domains of history, sociology, anthropology, geography, archaeology, political sciences, philosophy, and literature, etc.
The platform’s role is enhanced with unequalled academic communication tools: Calenda, the social sciences calendar, and Hypothèses, a notebook platform for research into the humanities and social sciences.

Revues.org is a platform for the online publication of electronic academic journals for the humanities and social sciences. Its priority is to publish full-text and open-access articles. Journals are selected by our academic selection committee. Each journal can adopt their own individual graphics policy to bring to the fore their own identities. Searching for a journal or article
Each journal has its own site, which can be accessed at a simple address; for example, http://ceroart.revues.org. At the top of the page, is a scrolling menu from which the journal under consultation can be changed at any time. Each journal has an author index; some also have a geographical index with keywords, or other search criteria. It is possible to search individual journals for information or search the whole platform using the general search engine.
Staying informed of platform updates
The Revues.org e-newsletter keeps readers informed of news of the platform and any new additions. Revues.org also offers more than 300 feeds of different syndications. The general feed concerns news of the platform. Each journal has its own feeds, per issue and per document. Calenda and Hypothèses also have their own feeds.

Reading the articles online
Articles can be accessed via the sidebar. For improved reader-friendliness:

notes are displayed in the margin; the text can be displayed in three sizes;
-
images can be enlarged via a zoom;
-
the article can be sent by e-mail;
-
in the case of printed journals, a facsimile is also offered.
Citing online articles
To guarantee citations:
-
each article has a simple, permanent URL address for labelling the article;
-
the section entitled “References” gives the full reference of the document online;
-
each paragraph is numbered, which enables precise citation of a passage in an article;
-
all extra features of an article (text, abstract, keywords, notes, etc) are to be found on the same page.

Calenda, the social sciences calendar, http://calenda.revues.org/
Calenda is the most important French-language, open-access, online calendar in the humanities and social sciences. The role of Calenda is to inform students, lecturers and researchers alike of the current state of research. Calenda contains announcements for conferences, seminars, and study days, as well as offers of grants and calls for papers for academic events or journal issues. Calenda publishes 150 announcements per month, which are classified according to four major themes: societies, thought and language, periods and territories. Calenda has been effectively archiving social sciences in the making for eight years now.
For example, under the “societies” category, you will find: sociology, ethnology, anthropology, sciences, urban studies, geography, economic and social history, economics, political sciences and law.
How to consult Calenda?
News published by Calenda is classified in a thematic and chronological way, in the form of a calendar. Calenda news is readily accessible on the home page using the multiple search criteria: new features, category, type, event date. Calenda offers thematic feeds (by category and by type of event). Each event announced may be integrated into an electronic diary. The Revues.org e-newsletter also features announcements to be found on Calenda.
How do make an announcement on Calenda?
You can suggest an academic event via a user-friendly formula. The information submitted is then validated, edited and classified by the Calenda editorial team.

Hypothèses, the platform for humanities note book, http://hypotheses.org
Hypothèses is a publication platform for research notebooking that is open to all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. A research notebook may contain details of an archaeological excavation, chronicles on a specific theme, log books of collective research in progress, blogs for journals or books, fieldwork notes, academic newsletters, etc. Its role is to help the “poster” create dialogue with readers through comments. It functions through a simple tool, which does not require any special knowledge of information technologies.
The Hypothèses platform offers functions in tune with the needs of researchers into the humanities and social sciences. It is for example compatible with Zotero, a tool that facilitates note citation.

How to create a notebook on Hypothèses?
Hypothèses is opened to researchers, lecturers, engineers, doctorate students, and teams belonging to a laboratory of a research project. If you wish to create a notebook on the platform, all you have to do is fill a form available at http://hypotheses.org/sinscrire and send it by e-mail to hypotheses@revues.org.
If you already have a blog hosted on a general-interest platform, it is generally possible to migrate to Hypothèses.
The creation of a research notebook on Hypothèses is free. Training for the platform is offered by the Cléo team.

L’édition électronique ouverte, the Centre for Open Electronic Publishing blog, http://leo.hypotheses.org/
Opened in January 2007, the blog of the Centre for Open Electronic Publishing (Cléo) deals with the Cléo team’s daily activities, its projects and profession. It has been designed as a tool for the circulation of information about electronic publishing in the humanities and social sciences, about academic and technical information, about the evolutions and news of the Revues.org platform, but also as a tool for transmitting skills relating to electronic publishing. The blog is run by Cléo team and discusses the editorial and technological work carried out by the various professions that make up the team.
