Lumpy Lemon

our brief for this job was to make a plumber’s website that looked nothing like all the other plumbers’ websites! so we came up with a clean, fresh, spacious design which you can see at aqueco.co.uk. every page has a ’snippet’ of info to show visitors the importance of saving water and co2, and how this can save them money. lumpy lemon also designed the logo to be used on all the business materials.

transitionculture.org is the personal blog of rob hopkins, one of the founders of the rapidly-spreading transition towns movement. his wordpress-powered blog was looking a bit dated so he asked us to completely redesign the entire site from the ground up. we developed several wordpress plugins to display the wide range of information on the site, and used open source software to improve the performance. around 1500 people visit the site daily, many of them getting involved & leaving comments.

galeria brasil is a funky (and ethical!) brazilian gallery in east oxford. over five years we have created many promotional materials for them: advertisements, christmas cards, leaflets, invitations and postcards. we recently exhibited the first part of a long-term photography project “the magic of brasil”, based on the symbols and icons found in popular brazilian art.

in 2008, claire and andy james swapped the rat race in london to restore a beautiful ‘trulli’ farmhouse in puglia in southern italy to be their home and an accommodation business. rusticpuglia.com allows them to easily manage all their prices, enquiries and bookings online, as well as being able to update any page of the website and write a regular blog to keep everyone up-to-date with their progress.

lumpy lemon was commissioned by oxford university’s department of politics to develop publicservices.ac.uk to present the findings of the 5-year ‘public services programme’. as well as the research papers and findings, there is a powerful search feature, sections for upcoming events and news stories, and an extensive library of publications. the website is powered by our content management system based on the open source wordpress platform, so the programme staff can easily maintain it.

the business lunch is barcelona’s oldest and most established business networking event. it brings together members of the english-speaking business community in barcelona to foster a network of mutual business relationships and interest.

ishka was invited to document this monthly event in photographs, many of which you can see on the business lunch website.
