Upload with FTP

You can upload videos to blip.tv using FTP. FTP, which stands for "File Transfer Protocol," is a common way of moving large files from one computer to another. You can learn more about FTP from Wikipedia.

To upload to blip.tv with FTP, log into ftp.blip.tv with your username and password. When you upload make sure to use binary mode. Most FTP clients will do this for you.

Each video you upload with FTP will be posted to your blip.tv account after about 15 minutes of inactivity. If your connection drops accidentally, you can safely resume the transfer within 10 minutes without fear of the partial file fragment being posted to your account. The title of the post will be the name of the file you uploaded, without the file extension. Files that are larger than 1 000 000 000 bytes (roughly 1GB) or contain an invalid file extension will be removed. If your daily upload limit has been reached, transfer will be reattempted every three hours.
