Even the Girl Scouts are feeling the pressure of a struggling economy! This year, the popular Girl Scout cookies Thin Mints, Do-si-dos, and Tagalongs are getting fewer cookies in the box.

As long as they don’t mess with the Somoas, we’re okay with it! Not to mention, these measures certainly can’t hurt American’s problems with their waistlines.

I’ve completely subverted the Mixx Picks system and picked a story that is near and dear to my heart. One of the things I love about visiting England is spending time in the local pubs.  Filled with good food and drinks, and wonderful friendly people, the pubs are a central part of the English culture.  The pubs are closing at the astounding rate of 40 per week.  This video from CNN shows the harsh reality of the impact of the current financial crisis.
