Joyce Plath is an artist, parent, explorer of remote mountains, environmentalist, collaborator, community builder, and designer of buildings. For over twenty-five years, Joyce been listening carefully to clients to help them develop a building design with integrity and substance that enhances their quality of life. Architecture is a challenging blend of engineering, site dynamics, building and planning code requirements, energy conservation strategies, budgets, and the imagination of the designer and client working together to create successful solutions. Joyce's goal is always to create buildings that fit with peaceful equilibrium on their site, are passively environmentally functional, capture natural light, are comfortably live-able, and are adaptable over time. The artist in Joyce tries to go further, to think three dimensionally about a building, adjusting proportions and materials to create spaces that provide the art or magic that enhances the lives of those within.
