MGM Mirage Sells Treasure Island MGM Mirage sold Treasure Island Las Vegas to Ruffin Acquisition, owned by Phil Ruffin, for $775 million. Treasure Island completed a renovation in August and has 18,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, as well as 2,885 rooms and suites.
BlogWorld Expo announced it has acquired New Media Expo. The newly combined event, which will feature a tradeshow and conference, now will be called BlogWorld & New Media Expo, and is scheduled Oct. 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Officials from the Intl. Assn. of Exhibitions and Events and Natl. Trade Productions announced a new, 10-year partnership at TS2 in 2009 at Chicago's McCormick Place.
The SMG-managed Mundo Imperial project in Acapulco, Mexico, has been suspended, and "will not be finished in the immediate future due to economic uncertainty," according to Paul St. Amour, director of SMG Mexico.

The Craft & Hobby Assn. is moving its CHA Summer Craft & Hobby Show from Rosemont to Orlando's Orange County Convention Center July 28-30. The association also announced it will launch a consumer show, the CHA Craft SuperShow, at the OCCC July 31-Aug. 1. CHA members will exhibit at both shows.
