On Monday, October 20th, a group of Junction activists stepped off the curb at 12th St. and North Ave. in an effort to halt Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin’s motorcade. The Grand Junction Police, having never encountered civil disobedience of this type, responded with excessive force to move protesters out of the roadway.

Planning for this year's Transform Columbus Day events began late because of the DNC. But the following events have now been scheduled:
*Columbus Day Resistance March and Rally
The annual protest of the Columbus Day Holiday and the racism that it embodies will begin with a march from Four Winds that ends at the Capitol Building followed by a rally for a better future.
