This
website was last updated in 2000 but it still contains lots of useful
material, particularly on uranium mining in Australia, thanks to the encyclopaedic Dr Gavin Mudd.
Much has changed since 2000 ... a wave of uranium
exploration/speculation driven by a sharp price rise, the Coalition
government's promotion of nuclear power then its defeat in the Nov 2007
election, Jabiluka was stopped, the proposed Billa Kalina / Woomera
radioactive waste dump was stopped as were the Howard government's
plans to dump on the NT, Pangea Resources closed its Australian
office, the start-up of the new Lucas Heights reactor,
Beverley has been producing uranium for 5+ years and Honeymoon is
expected to be in operation in 2008-09, plans are in train to make
Roxby the biggest uranium mine in the world, etc.
