I'm surprised that all of the troops grasp the concept of all the different types of defence forces there are (being, of course, the intelligentsia of the population)

But hey, why let actual facts get in the way important stuff like "lol, like isn't it so, like, MEAN, that trained killers operating in a harsh environment kill puppies"

SG

I'm not sure how this can be held as an excuse- an explanation maybe but not an excuse. Plenty of trained killers living in harsher environments have not done sick things like this.

Harsher environments than a situation where any civilian MIGHT be a suicide bomber wanting to blow you up?

You Muppet.  You'r eprobably one of those anmby pamby types who crap on about human rights and the rights of the puppy without realising that it is our independence maintianed through military strength that gives you the rights and freedoms that you have.

Go sit in the naughty corner you donk.

Indeed.

If you choose to act like a child you will be treated like one.

That's an extra 11* minutes in the naughty corner for you

Well, the obvious example would be various marines in Iraq (or for that matter, in Nam), that didn't choose to throw puppies off cliffs.

How is that a harsher environemnt you Muppet?

I expect better of you Thal.

Cookie cutter approach doesn't apply to people.

Besides which, the point is more why do we care so much about a puppy when they're out there wasting human beings.

Easy to forget that from the rear echelons I guess.

So, no marines or other soldiers serving in Iraq or elsewhere happened to go through wose than those particular marines?  They win the prize for most crap suffered?

Besides which, the point is more why do we care so much about a puppy when they're out there wasting human beings.

As mentioned, puppies are cuter than Iraqis.

Now...if there was a Little Miss Iraqi Jailbait contest that was shot up by US marines, people would take an interest.

Well let's not go overboard. I said before it pales compared to the other horrors of the war and there have obviously been many many more people protesting against the war than giving attention to the puppy being thrown over a cliff but that doesn't mean it isn't significant and doesn't deserve to be abhored

Would it be better if the people then ate the puppy?

Mmm, Canine Larb.

Sounds good to me!

Couldn't go Dog Kebab however so teh Middle Eastern connection might make it a bit problematic.

Mmm, Canine Larb.

I had to help cook chicken larb at work.

It looks absolutely revolting.

For some reason, though, the flesh of land based predators isn't particularly appealing.

Nobody would be complaining if they'd thrown a cat off a cliff.
