In Part II hear Gary Imhoff of The Mail (which you can read at dcwatch.com) and Johnny Barnes of the ACLU debate CM Harry Thomas over the police tactics in Trinidad (which is in Ward 5).

Iraq-Style Checkpoints Put the "Occupied" into "Occupied DC"

"Operation Blue Curtain" is neighborhood vehicle/passenger ID checkpoints beginning this weekend and beginning in Trinidad. Pedestrians are not explicitly targeted but should expect harassment if NYC's experience with this sort of thing is any guide.

Politics and Prose bookstore owner Carla Cohen has reversed her decision to cancel Palestinian- American author Saree Makdisi's talk on his new book, "Palestine Inside Out: An Everyday Occupation".
