Global Center of Excellence (G-COE) Programs at Keio University
The Global Center of Excellence is a program grant set by MEXT to strengthen both research and education of graduate schools in Japan. It is to nurture researchers capable of leading international scientific scenes through formations of internationally competitive centers. Its emphasis is on fosterage of international scientific exchanges. The following research projects from Keio University are approved and granted as such G-COE programs.

21st Century Center of Excellence Programs (21st Century COE) at Keio University
The 21st Century Center of Excellence Program is a program grant set by MEXT. Its aims are improvements of research environments and development of competent human resources for researches. A number of projects from Keio University are approved and granted as such programs.

Creating the "Co-mobility Society" (Japanese only)
Research Institute for Digital Media and Content
The Institute was established in July 2004 and has two objectives: to promote the creation of contextual digital content (digital content that has been designed through generating digital materials for particular purposes and then editing, processing, and unifying them); and to develop research, encourage international distribution, and develop human resources in cooperation with other institutions both in Japan and elsewhere.
