You may download demo documents for use with our SMIL Editor and Player. You may view the document online, or download a zipped package to install locally on your hard drive. Using the zip is preferable as these demos are for user interest only and are not optimized for streaming across the internet.

Instructions:
Demos are available in an online/remote format and as a packaged Zip file to be downloaded. Should you have an adequately fast internet connection, you may view the demo directly.

Should you wish to view the demo directly, right click on the smil link and choose 'Copy Link'. Then open your GRiNS for SMIL2 Player and in the File menu, select Open URL. In the dialog that appears, then paste the URL into the location dialog and the demo will play.

SMIL: Viewable using the GRiNS for SMIL 2 Player or an equivalent and approved SMIL 2 Player

RealOne: Viewable only in a RealOne Player

Real G2: Viewable only in a Real Player version 8

HTML+Time: Viewable only in a Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5+ browser. You can click directly on this link to view the test in a window that will open

ZIP: A packaged version of the demo that you must download and decompress to a suitable location on your local machine.

 
TrakPlayer
HTML+Time zip  

The TrakPlayer is a study of playstates of media. This demo has a menu selecting from two media items, and then provides in presentation controls for starting, stopping, pausing and changing the media. This works only in HTML+Time and GRiNS exports currently as RealOne doesn't yet understand exclusive and priority class nodes yet. The zip contains the whole presentation including a html document describing functionality.

   
Sing Along
HTML+Time RealOne  

This simple demo shows more extensive text captions synchronized to audio with an image slideshow. The RealOne porting of this presentation uses a RealServer SureStream .rm file as the audio media, ensuring proper viewing.

   
SMIL Links Database
HTML+Time smil 2.0

This presentation is a porting of the very same Links page available on this site. The same content is now dynamically generated to SMIL, RealONE and HTML+Time. GRiNS was used to generate a single frame of the presentation layout, and the data is rendered to that template using Zope. It is proof that dynamic presentations are possible and very usefull
