Radio for Kids

George A new monthly show as part of Wednesday Breakfast. Tune in the first Wednesday of the month at 7.15am for Radio For Kids, featuring young people from primary age to their mid teens talking about local community activities and environmental topics.

The aim of Radio for Kids is to make links with primary and secondary schools by training kids to produce their own community interest segments and current affairs. Radio for Kids wants to hear from any kid who would like to contribute. All kids must be accompanied at all times by an adult family member. Contact Peter at wordsonthewire@gmail.com

The Comic Spot on The DIY Arts Show


Tune into John Retallick's new segment The Comic Spot once a month on the DIY Arts Show, Thursdays 5pm. On April 24 John will be speaking to Mandy Ord about her graphic novel Rooftops, an ode to Melbourne. Mandy contemplates the city she loves through the prism of Ghostbusters and the many faces of Bill Murray.

On May 29  Bruce Mutard talks about the first of his Robert Wells trilogy, The Sacrifice. Set during WW2 the book follows the trials of the pacifist and left leaning Robert Wells as his beliefs are challanged by world events and a relationship with a young German refugee.

The Comic Spot will also feature reviews of Australian comics and upcoming comic related events.

Poster Call Out

Are you a hoarder of political posters and propaganda? Is your kitchen a gallery documenting social change movements of the past and present? 3CR is currently looking for images for the production of the 3CR Seeds of Dissent 2009 Calendar. 3CR launches on air computer system

Juliet Fox and Greg Segal with the new system3CR has launched a computerised on air system - Dinesat - and our 300 broadcasters have been recently trained to operate the new system. Thanks to 3CR staff, particularly Juliet Fox and Greg Segal (pictured), for the installation of the system.
