Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) has launched nocleanfeed.com as part of the campaign against Labors planed compulsory Internet censorship for all Australian homes and schools.  The censorship plans are shrouded in secrecy but will involve a massive federal government blacklist of website (both legal and illegal) that Internet Service Providers (eg Telstra, Optus and iiNet) would be forced to block Australian Internet users from accessing.  The proposed system has been compared to the Great Firewall of China used by the communist government to track users and prevent them from accessing news site such as bbc news, wikipedia and websites of human rights and religious organisations.

The president of National Roads and Cyclists Association, Mr Alan Odds today called on the NRMA to stop inflaming the ongoing war between motorists and cyclists with their claim that cyclists do not belong on main roads in peak hour. Referring to the interview with NRMA president Alan Evans on ABC Radio's PM program this evening, Mr Odds said, “It would appear that NRMA policy, as articulated by its president, Alan Evans, is that cyclists should not be on main roads in peak hour Sydney because the mix of motorists and cyclists is unsafe.”

This morning, community activists halted the logging of old growth forests near the headwaters of the Styx River. Ten activists have peacefully occupied coupe TN47C, located 100 metres from the TWWHA boundary near the base of Mount Mueller to highlight the continued destruction of Tasmania's unique old growth forests.

"Tasmania is in a state of environmental emergency. Every single day, our island's unique old growth forests are felled, bulldozed and trucked off to the woodchipper. Gunns Ltd.'s stranglehold on the Lennon government has been highlighted again this week and once again it will be our precious carbon rich forests, the taxpayer and the community that will suffer as a result of yet another matey deal between climate criminals John Gay, Bob Gordon and Paul Lennon" said Still Wild Still Threatened spokesperson Ula Majewski.

Yesterday
morning, activists from Still Wild Still Threatened halted the logging of old
growth forests near the headwaters of the Styx River while over the weekend,
Giant Garrett was joined by Giant Wong in a long awaited visit to the
threatened forests of the Lower Weld Valley.

The Huon
Valley Environment Centre welcomed the 6 metre high Federal Environment
Minister Peter Garrett and Climate Change Minister Penny Wong to the threatened
forests of the Lower Weld Valley over the weekend. The visit coincided with
huge Forestry Tasmania burn-offs in the area.

Friday 4 of April at twelve noon outside the office of the Member for Gosford, Marie Andrews, in Blackwall Road, Woy Woy.

Nimbin has been visited by at least 100 riot sqad police, plus dog handlers, RBT busses, and associated fearmongering for most of today.

The 'Museum' and the Hemp Embassy were cordoned off from the public with 10 - 12 officers guarding those premises.

About 300 people showed out today in Sydney to protest against the church of scientology for a second time. This was the start. After gathering in Hyde park the protest moved off through the city, down Pitt street Mall and to the Church of Scientology. The crowd was vibrant. Music played, chants were loud, lots of information was given out to passers by. Many in their cars tooted their horns in support.

from the International Whaling Commission 3 day intercessional meeting
in London say that commercial whaling may be allowed but the scientific
loophole which has allowed Japan to whale in the Antarctic may be
closed. This would allow Japan to whale commercially in the north
Pacific regulated by the IWC. The meeting also rebuked Sea Shepherd
over "Safety at Sea".

Strip down and ride on for the environment this March. The next World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) in Australia will commence at high noon at the Archibald Fountain in Sydney’s Hyde Park on Saturday the 8th of March 2008.

The ride will be the first of 6 rides occuring in Australia on the same weekend, including Adelaide, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Newcastle and Melbourne. Other cities across the world will also host rides as part of the southern hemisphere leg of WNBR's global movement, including Lima (Peru), Golden Bay (New Zealand) Pretoria (South Africa) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Anti-whaling activists from Sea Shepherd
have confronted the whaling factory ship, Nisshin Maru in the Southern
Ocean Whale Sanctuary between 0800 and 1000 Hours on March 3, 175 miles
off the Antarctic Banzare Coast inside the Australian Economic
Exclusion Zone. During the confrontation the Sea Shepherd crew threw
bottles of rotten butter (Butyric acid) and a 'slippery chemical' onto
