About me:
libcom.org libcom.org is a constantly growing resource for all people who wish to fight to improve their lives, their communities and their working conditions. We want to discuss with one another, learn from successes and failures of the past and develop strategies to increase the power we, as ordinary people, have over our own lives.

The site contains clear information about basic ideas and history, as well as comprehensive listings of groups in Britain, news with both up-to-the-minute syndicated news and more detailed analysis, organising tips about how to start a local group, produce a newsletter or resist in the workplace, lively discussion forums to link up with people in your area, help plan events, and chat about anything from politics to music to monkeys, and much more besides.

So feel free to check out the site at www.libcom.org, or have a chat on our libcom.org forums

Who I'd like to meet:

SQUAT EVICTION IN ATHENS

The squat at Millerou and Germanikoy str in Athens was evicted yesterday by the police. Riot police surrounded the squat at 7:00 o clock yesterday morning and stormed in. 3 people were arrested.

Immediately when this incident got known people gathered around the squat in solidarity to the people inside. On 12 o clock yesterday a solidarity demonstration outside the Town Hall of Athens took place. About 100 people attended.

The specific squat was targeted by the town council of Athens for some time now. They want to destroy the building and remake the whole area. About a month ago an another solidarity demonstration had taken place. Later on the same day undercover police with the help of fasicsts had attacked the squat throwing bottles against the people that were coming out of it.

Anarchy

Ever reviled, accursed, ne'er understood,
Thou art the grisly terror of our age.
"Wreck of all order," cry the multitude,
"Art thou, and war and murder's endless rage."
O, let them cry. To them that ne'er have striven
The truth that lies behind a word to find,
To them the word's right meaning was not given.
They shall continue blind among the blind.
But thou, O word, so clear, so strong, so pure,
Thou sayest all which I for goal have taken.
I give thee to the future! Thine secure
When each at least unto himself shall waken.
Comes it in sunshine? In the tempest's thrill?
I cannot tell - but it the earth shall see!
I am an Anarchist! Wherefore I will
Not rule, and also ruled I will not be!

THE DICTATORSHIP OF DETENTION
IS A REFLECTION OF DEMOCRACY

A revolt is taking place at two wings of the Malandrino Prison, following the beating of anarchist Yiannis Dimitrakis by prison guards earlier on the day.
Democracy beats up, tortures, murders and degrades the hostages in its inferno-like prisons.
Exterminating detention conditions; lack of water; regular beatings, surveillance cameras, architecture of violence, inhumanely short time allowed in the outside yards are all regular features of the Malandrino Prison, only temporarily broken thanks to the il-legal break offered by revolt.

Nothing has been offered to us by the humanitarian façade of democracy's executioners; everything has been won by the screams of those in revolt, those standing on the rooftops of their prisons.
