Front-page Ads Anger FCN Journalists
Tuesday, 11 December 2007

Front-page Ads Anger FCN Journalists Editorial staff at Fairfax Community News Central office will withhold their by-lines from this year’s second last edition of The Melbourne Times and The Emerald Hill Weekly to protest against the company's decision to sell their front covers for advertising.

The Victorian Secretary of the Alliance, Louise Connor, said the staff were right to be concerned: “For the past twenty or so years, The Melbourne Times and Emerald Hills Times’ readership has been built on promoting the integrity of the journalism and giving over the first four pages to sell an advertiser’s message will undermine that credibility."
