Che Cafe!

Zine Library

The Che Cafe Zine Library is just beginning to grow. Currently there are only about 100 zines. The library contains independent, underground and some marginal publications on subjects such as politics, music, culture, personal experience and travel.

The Zine library is "open" during any che event. If you'd like to drop by and look at zines when there is no event going on, feel free to call us at (858)534-2311, and if someone's there, you may be able to stop by.

If you are interested in a copy of one of the zines you find in our library, please let us know and we'll do our best to make a copy of it for you. Please respect the community resource and don't steal zines!

Send in your zines!

We want to see this library expand in to a rich source of information and inspiration. The Che is most interested in zines addressing political and social issues, rather than personal dialogues and poetry. We are especially looking for DIY how-to guides. If you would like to contribute to our community library, please mail us your zine(s), or if you live nearby, just drop it off.

Mail zines to:
Che Cafe Collective
Zine Library!

La Jolla, CA 92093

If you authored the zine, please include in a note to us:
-can we make copies of your zine for those who request them? (either for free or sold at/below the reproduction costs)
-if you want, include a short summary of your zine (for the website, etc)
-please try to include the date/year that the zine was created. it's important for the reader to have some sense of this.
-please tell us what general category your zine falls under (political, how-to, personal, travel, etc)
-is this a one-time zine, or will there be multiple issues of it?
-a way to get back to you (email, address, etc)
-anything else you want to tell us.

In the future, we plan to create an online database of the different zines in our library, and many will be available for the cost of postage.

How you can help...

-Send in any zines you've got laying around the house, or find laying around in other peoples houses...eh?
-If you're real intersted, come get involved in the che, and the zine library project. look at the volunteer section for more info.
