Indymedia Journalist Murdered by Paramilitary Thugs

by Jong Pairez (indymedia)
INDYMEDIA journalist shot dead by Oaxacan paramilitary thugs on the 27th of October while filming the people’s barricade in Santa Lucia- a town in Oaxaca, Mexico. [watch video here]

taken from narconews.comBrad Roland Will- a New York Indymedia journalist was with his camera at the barricades documenting the people’s strike against the Oaxacan Governor Ulises Ruiz before the shooting broke out that took a single bullet to end Brad's life. Prior to the recent killing, the five-month long strike of the Oaxacan people against their tyrant and corrupt Governor caused already a number of activists and civilians alike murdered by Military, Police and Paramilitaries.

In solidarity to seek justice for Brad Will and the people of Oaxaca, friends and activists demanded:

1. All armed forces acting on behalf of the government against the people of Oaxaca be removed immediately;
2. The illegitimate governor Ruiz be removed immediately;
3. The federal government negotiate directly with those people who man the barricades in Oaxaca;
4. Guilty parties on all levels be identified and held accountable for the assassinations of Brad Will and the other civilian victims in Oaxaca.

As of press time, the Indymedia Network and people around the globe who pay respect for Brad Will continue to take direct action targeting the Mexican Consulates in every country carrying the above-mentioned demands. Meanwhile, an online direct-action has been set-up by Cyber Activists as a response against the oppressive Mexican government. You can participate by going here [ Click Vive Oaxaca ]
