Dinner and Movie: Benefit for Oaxacan Revolution
Saturday, September 2nd 6pm Dry River is hosting a benefit dinner and movie to support the CIPO group and the revolutionary women of Cotzocon in their efforts in the current Oaxacan Revolution. We will be screening a film entitled "Desalojo" roughly translated to Police Raid. It features footage of police and their actions against the striking teachers' Union in Oaxaca City. We will also have pictures, videos, and handcrafts from Oaxaca City and the surround areas in support of the resistance. The Dinner menu consists of Gazpacho a la Guadalajara (Chilled avocado tomato soup), Green Corn Tamale Cassarole, with a dessert of homemade flan, there will also be horchata and watermelon. A $5 donation is requested.

More Free School Classes!
Dry River is proud to once again offer free yoga classes courtesy of Nicole. Now starting again every Friday from 6:30pm until 8pm. Please feel free to bring your own mats, to use and or share. Also returning is the Self-Defense class starting up again later on in September.

Thursday Video Nights Return 8/24
This Thursday, August 28th, Dry River brings back its tradition of screening films on every first and third Thursday of the month. This week's film is dedicated to raising funds for a local pirate radio project, hoping to be on the airwaves soon. The film is "Pump Up The Volume," (1990) featuring Kelly Slater, where "Mark" starts his own pirate radio station in Mesa, Az. Based off of true events.
