The St Augustine's Seminar, to be held next week in London, has as its task the fine-tuning of the programme of the Lambeth Conference 2008. Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams said, in a recent pastoral letter, 'the St Augustine's Seminar, in a new format, will be digesting what emerges from the process and working towards a full programme. Nearly 200 members from the global Anglican community attended the opening session of the annual event on Monday 30th October, which has been expanded since 2004 to incorporate World Mission issues as well as companion relationships between dioceses. Sydney Synod has spoken decisively on ordaining women as priests, with a clear majority of members voting to move forward and not revisit the debate. In a secret ballot last night after an hour of speeches, approximately 70 per cent of lay members (235) voted no to introduce the General Synod canon, while 85 per cent of clergy (165) also voted no. The 'yes' vote was 114 in the house of laity and 31 in the house of clergy

TEAC Grids - New
The Anglican Communion Theological Education Working Party, has offered a collection of grids which aim to set out in an accessible way the 'competencies' that TEAC believes are essential for people engaged in various forms of ministry and discipleship within the Anglican Communion.
