Joseph Turner, a Southern California white nationalist and
leader of the anti-immigrant group Save Our State, is asking San Bernardino
voters to choose him to guide the education of San Bernardino
children in the Board of Education race there. On October 7, this aspiring
educator sent an apocalyptic, white supremacist message to his Save Our State
supporters:
Our enemies are bloodied and beaten. We cannot relent. Our
boot is on their throat and we must have the willingness to crush their
"throat" so that we can put our enemy down for good.
The sovereignty of our nation and the future of our culture and
civilization is at stake. The United States is a beacon of salvation
unto the rest of the world. Our freedoms, our culture is mans
salvation. If we perish, man perishes.

Susan Forrest, a member of the AIDS social services community, writes about a new social marketing campaign that may fail to reach at-risk communities:
There is a LOT of hand-wringing in L.A. HIV circles about men who have sex with men who don’t identify as gay - and how to get them HIV tested and how to target prevention to them. [Many of those men are purported to be men who are not white.] This campaign will not speak to them...
It is generally acknowledged that those guys do not identify as "gay" and are not seen as members of 'The Gay Community' (of course, there are many communities in LA, but 'The Gay Community' in LA – the West Hollywood, entrenched crowd who self-identify as 'The Gay Community' generally are white.) So if these posters are going up in West Hollywood or in areas where people who identify as part of the gay community are, they will miss the very population they are saying they want to reach.

Drive Out the Bush Regime by Leslie Radford
LOS ANGELES, October 2, 2006 – With less than a day's notice, anti-war, and anti-bush regime activists are scrambling to organize some kind of protest against the widely unpopular president. The president will be in town for only four hours from 4pm to 8pm to attend a republican party fundraiser at the Holmby Hills home of Elliott Broidy. The visit comes coincidentally in the same week as the Drive out the Bush Regime day of protests on Thursday planed by the World Can’t Wait organization Bush visits to Los Angeles have become increasing secretive. It is thought that he can no longer appear in public places without causing large protests. Last year Bush was able to seek in out of town without any protests. LOS ANGELES, September 25, 2006 – A coalition of faith based groups succeeded in closing the army recruitment center in Hollywood today. Early Monday morning a group of about 50 marched down Hollywood Blvd. to the recruitment center and proceeded to block the entrance. They were prepared to risk arrest but it did not come to that. Police monitored the group but did not interfere. It is believed that the center knew in advance of the action and closed because of the demonstration.
About 25 people set up an all day vigil at the front doors to make sure the recruitment center did not try to reopen. One of the people who took part, Ann Bishop, said of the action “We may have saved a few lives. Somebody didn’t sign up, and maybe having a day to think it over they won’t sign up, and they won’t go some where and be killed or kill any body”.
