Journalists were frustrated in their attempts to find out what the elite decision makers who make up the group were discussing inside. Even police (!) needed permission to get inside the grounds, according to a report in the Ottawa Citizen.

She started her career as an oceanographer and deep sea diver and explorer in the 1950's when no other women were in the field. Aquatic conservationist, explorer, deep ocean diver, Dr. Sylvia Earle is lots of things and she will be in Ottawa to give 2 talks this Tuesday May 30th. The evening one is free at the Museum of Nature.

A founding member of Gold Star Families for Peace, a leading figure of the anti-war movement, in the US, and a military mother whose son, Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed in Iraq (April 2004), Cindy will speak at Carleton University. This is part of a 4-city speaking tour, and Cindy's only Ottawa engagement. She struck a chord with millions of Americans when she camped outside Bush's ranch in 2005, demanding to know why Bush took the US to war.
