It was snowing tourists in the untypically-cool Hawai’ian winter.
He stayed for a week on Kaua’i, Hawai’i’s oldest island, with the wettest spot on the world in its center, boasting 350 out of 365 days of rain and 500 annual rain-inches. But it was dry where he was billeted, at the Aloha Hotel by the sea, dry enough to crack lips and parch skin. |

JoeyAyala's Friday Nights at Conspiracy are becoming an international taple. Conspiracy Garden Cafe, touted as Quezon City's cultural center, is now an obligatory stopover for foreign guests and expatriates coming and going about their global development work. NGO jetsetters, British Volunteers, Peace Corps workers, people from the various embassies and visitng artists rub shoulders and clink beers with their local counterparts at JA's gigs on a regular basis.
