Tuesday January 31, from 8:00 to 11:00 PM EST, we are aired the
State of the Union speech, and additional special coverage from
the streets, and include various guests before and after the speech.

Surveillance Initial Hearing - On Friday January 20, Pacifica
aired a special broadcast of the John Conyers' (Dem. MI) Special
Hearings on the NSA surveillance of people in the US. Included in
this broadcast, is Al Gore's recent speech given on Martin Luther
King Day, regarding Bush's use of NSA spying. This special Pacifica
broadcast was hosted by Larry Bensky.

PRA Special - On December 6 the entire Pacifica
network pre-empted its regular schedule for an 18-hour simulcast
of programming drawn from Pacifica's 50-plus-year history. This
was a fundraiser for the Pacifica
Radio Archives. They focus ed on three major subject areas:
the civil rights movement recordings, live music, and the
1970 live reading on WBAI of Tolstoy's War and Peace
Pacifica
executive staff and defense team after supreme court ruling
in favor of non-commercial broadcasters' right to editorialize.
League of Women Voters v FCC - Pacifica was a plaintiff in
the case and won, permitting noncommercial stations to editorialize.
