DUDE Renames DHS

DUDE, 22.12.2004 - 16:12
Watch the short video to see what it's like Does DHS mean "Department of Human Suffering" for the Disabled?

the disability community has lost its faith in the system...

...It seems that the old habit of throwing the aged and disabled down the cliff in ancient Sparta may have been more humane than the present situation, in which the disabled are given too little to live and too much to die.

We the disabled live now constantly under a swinging sword, not knowing when it may fall and cut us off. Thus, we are terrorized not by any outside fanatics, but by our own State government.

A Democracy Now! Xmas Carol

Media Collective, 10.12.2004 - 20:56
* * santa caps and song * * Aaah, the Holidays-a time for friends and family, eggnog by a roaring fire, cherub-cheeked toddlers grasping for sparkling gewgaws in storefront windows, and of course who could forget a crowd of boisterous carolers pressuring Jefferson Public Radio to air Democracy Now! at the annual wine and cheese fundraiser. In a scene straight out of Charles Dickens, some thirty Jefferson State residents gathered outside the Ashland Springs hotel to announce in song the rebirth of a campaign that has been going on since 1997.

Oxygen Collective, 03.12.2004 - 00:07
Several Medford patrol units responded Thursday night to calls made by Victoria's Secret and the Rogue Valley Mall. An Ashland man was handcuffed and six others detained while an excited Victoria's Secret employee tried to accuse the detained of a variety of crimes. Officers released everyone without charges after about 45 minutes.

About 20 Jackson County residents had gone to Victoria's Secret to highlight endangered forest destroyed to ship more than million panty catalogs a day every day of the year. Buy Nothing Campaign: Phase One

Trevor Hagstrom, 27.11.2004 - 14:42
Ashland protesters hit the rogue valley mall and were swiftly stiffled, but this is just the beginning.

November 26th, the day after Thanksgiving has become a disgusting American tradition, revolving around materialism and leftovers.

Adbusters has ran a campaign called Buy Nothing Day on this faux holiday for 5 years now, but most people don't know it exists. In order to spread the word an impromptu protest was launched at the Rogue Valley Mall in Medford, ground zero for corporate Christmas
