CALL TO ACTION: Election Fraud Protest in Seattle Monday!

Protest Election Fraud! Mon. Dec. 6. 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm
Victor Steinbrueck Park (directly north of Pike Street Market)

Join us to rally and show unity with Ohio voters while serious voting irregularities are investigated by Congress and a recount of the November 2nd federal election begins. By standing with the people of Ohio, we convey the message to the public that we stand unified in our desire for full accountability. We are committed to preserving the integrity of the voting process and until we are assured that every individual vote has been properly acounted, the vote is -- essentially -- still out.

There will be a reading by Seattle-area high schools tudents of personal accounts written by disenfranchised Ohio voters.

Five Years After the WTO: The Seattle Weekly Trashes the Anti-Globalization Movement

The media spin cycle leading up to major anti-globalization protests has become so predictable that activists have been forced to come up with better media strategies to keep up with the lies and disinformation.

The mainstream media starts the cycle several months in advance with articles and coverage about the upcoming summit and accompanying protests. This coverage always includes an obligatory interview with the local authorities who claim that they will be "ready" for the protests. These early articles will include space devoted to the issues on the table, but as the event nears, the coverage focuses more and more on the expected clash between protesters and police. Activists have tried many different ways to change this narrative, to force the media coverage back to the issues and reasons for protest, without much success.

The Weapons of Mass Distraction Project will stage a mock television news broadcast complete with roving reporters, anchorpersons and a giant television during the 5th anniversary of the protests against the 1999 World Trade Organization in Seattle. Seattle Weekly WTO Coverage: Lies & Omissions

The Seattle Weekly's Anniversary Coverage of the WTO Ministerial is filled with omissions of key facts and relies on one of the police commanders for it's view description of what took place on the streets. Reading the Weekly you wouldn't know that the police had used their "less lethal" munitions on thousands hours before any property was broken, and you'd think the police haven't used these weapons against demonstrators since. The truth is quite different...

Two people were arrested as police in riot gear responded to about 100 anti-war protesters at the Port of Olympia on Thursday. The protesters beat drums and banged stones in rhythm against chain-link fencing separating the Port Plaza from a dock, showing their opposition to an Army shipment of equipment from the port to the Iraqi war zone.
